New to the forum and need some help

I just need some help deciding if I should root my phone. I want to my fascinate to run to its full potential and I want to get rid of most of the apps that I don't use but can't get rid of them. It would be nice to have a better battery as well. I just need to know everything about rooting as well.

Oh and my Google maps takes forever to find my location. Is there any way to fix that? Thanks for the help guys

I would go with the latest Community ROM. It makes all the difference in the world how the device performs.

I happen to agree - the Community ROM has done me no wrong. I threw together a post describing my particular route to obtaining the latest Community ROM - check it out. It's an overly detailed step-by-step process, but if nothing else it's full of links to all kinds of good-to-know information. If that doesn't help, the Stickies are good reads - they should help quench your need for rooting knowledge. Enjoy!
