hello everybody,, let me 1st start out by saying this is a nice community, ive been reading this forums for a good 2month and today decide to sign up
, So i still have my Palm pre till jan 6,,, my sis just got the evo, so she gave me her sprint hero to play with. so like i said before i been reading and this is what i want to do so far,,,,,, Cyanogenmod 6.1 and froyo2.2,,,,so what to do 1st?????? Thank you in advice

Hi! Welcome to the forums.

First, you need to root the phone. Here is a good how to: [GUIDE] How to Root Sprint 2.1 Release for CDMA Hero - xda-developers

The important thing is to figure out what software version you have by going to settings>about phone >software

Ending ".2" is the newest update and is rootable. Someone recently used an app to root the phone successfully, here is the app if you want to use that method to root: [APP] z4root - xda-developers

After that, get the CM ROM from XDA and flash it via Recovery. Let us know how it goes
