New Update Inbound

I think I'll wait till tomorrow. And then try and force it.

I read in another thread on this forum that the update for the LTE model is out in the UK. The CSC for UK unbranded is BTU. So I would give that a try if you decide to force it.

k I'll give it till 12 then go from there. Thanks
No worries. Where are you based? Hopefully you won't have long to wait. This update is rolling out much faster than the last one. We already have both variants released in the UK and one in the US. I think it will be released elsewhere soon (touch wood).

I'm west coast US. My step counter was over 5000 steps lower then my phone yesterday and HR connection drops are driving me crazy. I'm really hopeful this is the update to fix it.

HR has been excellent since the update, as @Greymire reported earlier. Every time I have woken my watch, the HR has been recording.
Went for a treadmill run and an outdoor run today. Excellent HR recording, although I was using Gear Tracker which improves HR any way. If you aren't using Gear Tracker for your workouts, in my opinion you should be. There is now a trial version so you can try before you buy. Nothing to lose! Here's the link and the HR graphs from today's exercises:

Guess I am going to buy another Galaxy Watch tomorrow. Fingers crossed. I have squash game tomorrow night. Hope I am not taking it back to the shop on Wednesday.

Good stuff. Hopefully the update will be waiting for you when you activate it. Did you ever join the Beta Testers group for Gear Tracker? In your case, I would strongly suggest you do and post any problems you have there, rather than go straight to Samsung which is pointless. The beta group is really supportive and we've figured out fixes to a lot of tracking problems. Just contact the Gear Tracker developer and request to join. Good luck.

Hi sonnnet, I purchased Gear Tracker a few month back. Before I sent my watch back I purchased a Polar OH1 (optical HR arm band) which I paired with the watch and disabled the watches internal HR and that worked fine with GT and Under Armour Record, so I know I have a fitness monitoring solution. I was just so peeved that after 3 repairs, returning the watch back to Samsung 5 times over as many months, I just wanted to find a watch that provided a total solution. I have done loads of research over the last few weeks, looking at Garmin, Polar and Suunto devices and I was adamant to purchase one this week. So pleased this update was released today so I can give a new Galaxy Watch a final try before an alternative purchase.

Tried to force it once got xar, at, spr, tmb, usc, and vzw. I tried xar, spr, and tmb. None worked so now I guess I just have to wait.

Sleep tracking may have slightly improved but I believe only because of the heart rate fixes. Last night the phone shouted only 10% deep sleep while Sleep as Android showed a very good night's sleep at 32%.

On another note step tracking has greatly improved. Exercises start very easily on their own and step tracking is now slightly higher on my watch than on the phone which it should be due to how they track.

Good news for me too...Update was available earlier this morning and I just downloaded it. Looks nice but I have no comments so far as I will have to wait and test it how it goes in terms of battery and HR issues.

What I like about the update for sleep tracking is that it shows a benchmark for people your age and gender (based on averages, where individual needs can vary a lot). Although the recorded deep sleep is lower than the benchmark in my case, "normal" at my age is apparently about 13%.
What does your benchmark say?

Food for thought:
Given the graph below: how realistic is 32% as measured by Sleep as Android?
The message in below article is "if you feel good, you're getting enough".

You will never get an accurate sleep readout unless you are wired up to electrodes in a sleep lab. But Sleep as Android is the gold standard as far as I'm concerned, for mobile devices. Using sonar mode on your phone, it fires ultrasonic waves at you to detect movement and respiration rates. Combined with audio recording, it can warn you of sleep apnoea and excessive snoring. You can play the snippets back in the morning. When I have worked out hard, this is reflected in deeper sleep. The algorithms are complex and based on research. If you connect your Galaxy Watch, you get all of the above, plus heart rate. Samsung can't compete with all that just on a watch.
But I do agree, on the whole, as per your extract, if you feel you are getting enough quality sleep, likelihood is you are.
