New Verizon G4 Update

Not able to sync email on wifi anymore. Have to turn off wifi to retrieve emails. Reminds me of the problem
I had with my G3 until they finally fixed it.

Did you try removing the account and setting it up again? I am having no trouble syncing on wifi, I have mine set to sync manually. Mary

Having WiFi notification issues as well. Apps that won't push notifications since I've updated: Gmail, Inbox, Tapatalk, Talon, Pushbullet, G+, Facebook. Does appear to be the same issue that the G3 had when it first got Lollipop.

From my G4 or GPad

I wasn't getting notifications for my game coins. This happened on another phone once when it updated. I just go into the app and turn the notifications off then back on and that seems to fix it. On the other hand I don't have twitter set to give me notifications as I get my tweets via text but now I am getting notifications from twitter at the top of the screen once in a while and don't know how to turn them off. Also when logging into websites for the first time I am not getting the option to save the info. One website it did save it though but another website I have to sign in every time. Is this a phone thing or my dolphin browser that stores the info? Mary

Having a similar issue with the notifications. They eventually come through (whether it's when I drop off of wifi or manually fetch).

Gmail, ESPN, Google Rewards so far that I've seen. I don't get many notifications from other apps, these are the main ones.

I am also having WiFi notification issues on my Verizon LG G4 . The notifications start coming through as soon as I am no longer connected to WiFi. I also had this issue after an update with the G3. I believe back then I had read somewhere that the bug was related to IPv6.

For all having problems, I would reboot the phone first. If that didn't work then do a FDR as stated previously. If that doesn't work then it's a problem with the update most likely. As stated before, FDR fixes a lot of problems on these phones.

I'm having the same issue. It seems like it's only syncing every few hours and in between I don't get any notifications when I'm on Wifi.

I get no email (stock app) updates except at home. As soon as I leave, no updates, either over 4G or my work's WiFi connection. As soon as I get home, boom, email updates.

Yeah... definitely not doing a FDR. I don't have the time or energy to setup my phone again. That being said, I don't think that will resolve the issue anyways.

I did an FDR and didn't have to set up my phone again accept to go through the set up steps to log into google. Then I just loaded my back up file and every thing was just as it was before the FDR, settings and all, was easy peasy and took no time at all. That is one reason I like LG because of that back up app right on the phone that will let me put that file on my memory card.. When I had my Samsung S5 and had to do a FDR there was no back up application on the phone that would back up settings and all. With kleiss I had to hook my phone to the computer to get at the back up file and that didn't even load all my settings only the programs. With LG I have everything in a file all nice and neat and can just reload from that file. Mary

You're not worried that you would be restoring the same error you were trying to get rid of by resetting?

So I kept delaying the install of the update. But just realized it hasn't asked me to update in a few days. When I went to check it says update failed and that my phone is up to date. I'm not rooted. Any ideas?.

The new update installed a bunch of garbage games on my G4, like Panda Pop, Clash of Kings, etc. Check your apps!

With the new update my apps open slower. No matter what browser I use, Dolphin, Habit, or Chrome, everything loads slower. I've done battery pulls, ran the cleaner, and cleared the system cache twice. Sometimes when I try and answer a call my screen goes black when I pick the phone up to answer it, and have to do a double tap to again see the screen to answer it. I don't have any of the custom call settings enabled. All in all, the update has slowed the performance of my phone a lot.

This update killed my push notifications as well... really frustrating. Friends with a G4 on other carriers aren't having this problem, and they didn't on the G3 either. Damn Verizon, you really need to get your **** together.

And you're on Verizon? I'm only asking because I read of the same issue on an AT&T thread. My Verizon G4 update installed No new apps, and phone is working much better.
