New Virgin phone, Motorola Triumph | JULY19 | $300

looks nice, I am hoping root won't be too much trouble. I know there are thriving moto android communities out there. Crossing fingers.

Remember all moto phones cept the Droid 1 have locked bootloaders.
CM style roms dont work on moto phones.

While that's true, I can live with a rom sans the bloat. That is the way I have my V. CM is nice but it's not like the stock rom on the Triumph is bloat-heavy with blur..
arm7+4.1in screen (big hands) + front facing cam + 720p. I can handle a little less cm haha

just because it has a locked bootloader doesnt mean we cant get root. we just cant do things that really speed up the phone like swapping kernals.. root will come. we will be able to get rid of the bloatware. we just wont be able to overclock

I am sure root will be obtained, thats not my point.
One of the reasons I like the V is the ability to fully customize it with roms and kernels.
IF the phone comes with stock android and VM software then that will be awesome.

Im just trying to point out its a Motorola phone it will be locked.
Being a prepaid Virgin phone and a Motorola phone, means limited development is almost guaranteed since it has two "strikes" against it.

I hope the phone turns out good. As a bit of variety for VM android would be freaking awesome.

I know what you mean, at first I was scared to get the V. Coming from large dev communities for the N1 and Evo..I was in shock at the size the community was for the V. Looking at the developing community for the Boost Prevail, I'm not holding my breath for the Triumph receiving much attention from devs..all we can hope for is for the oV devs to get the triumph >.<

Everything will be clear..in time, too bad it takes so long haha

I think Radioshack's going to be the first retail store to get the Triumph, like they did with the Optimus V.

The Motorola Photon for Sprint is suppose to be unlocked, we be optimistic that the Motorola Triumph is also going to be unlocked.

Also, the Triumph will not have MotoBlur (a surprise for a Motorola phone). Maybe this means it will be more open (easier to root/get unlocked bootloader)? That could also just be my wishful thinking.

It better be under $250... or else...

or else I won't be buying it, and they will be sad :'(

You will be the sad one, we all will buy it and flaunt it in your face.

Haha!

Anyway, I just need a bigger screen, really. Flash support would be nice but I'm satisfied with the performance of the Optimus Prime V.

:D

If this has an unlocked bootloader I'm getting it same day it releases. It's not too late to start bothering virgin mobile about the bootloader (worked with the htc :D ) Hit em up on twitter. I been wanting a moto phone miss the ole p2k commander days.
I need A.A (android anonymous)

Agreed, I say we start hitting Virgin Mobile USA on twitter about an unlocked bootloader! ^_^

VM will be releasing it at $300 with a limit to each store of 5 per 2 week period and plan to raise it to $349 or more after the first 30 days. Sorry I can't offer a sweet link to this info but its kind of a family leak. Its not sure but a rumor to also have a $10 line premium required so $35 minimum monthly.
