New voicemail icon won't go away

I don't have any voice mails....its annoying me to no end! I've restarted my phone a couple of times and cleared caches. Help!

Take a look in your call history and see if there is a missed call. If there is delete that number.

Visual voicemail has options to clear cache and clear data. If you've cleared the cache on that app you can try clearing the data.

I'm not finding the settings for voicemail to clear the cache......

Found this for a different Note model and so far it has appeared to work:

To clear the voice mail notification when it will not disappear despite hitting the clear notification button, Go to settings, application manager, slide top bar to all, go to phone, open it and hit clear data and the voice mail notification notice will disappear.

You almost did what I suggested....I just skipped the steps since you said in your OP that you already cleared the cache. But I was wrong thinking you would need to do this for the voicemail app instead of the phone app.

i fixed mine by leaving a new voice mail, then delete that one
and notification was cleared

I finally figured out my issue. I had accidentally started visual voicemail without setting it up. I finished the setup and there was the offending voicemail. I deleted it.
