New VOIP option for GV - single app solution: GrooVe IP

I don't even have google chat or w/e it is downloaded so I guess I'm good. Mmarz let me know if ur issue fixes.

I have the latest version which is 1.1.0 and have checked only the screen always on option in troubleshooting. I am on the nameless rom and I am still having the audio issues. It is the same mic stuttering issue. I confirmed it by calling 909-390-0003 and listening to my own voice. Incoming calls have so far not caused any issues.

I'm not sure which roms the people I tested with used. I'm assuming Takenover83 will see this and update with what rom he's using.

I can send you the same logging drop I sent them if you shoot me an email.

I also sent in log files. I'm running Adhrodite 1.3.1 Kernel Xionia.005 voice quality is good now without any troubleshooting!
My wife just purchased it also, bone stock and appears to be working good. If there's any voice problems I will hear about it! lol

I think the problem I'm having is with the test number 909-390-0003 and not with groove ip. When I call and receive calls from a land line, the audio issues don't surface. If I try 909-390-0003, I get the stuttering at 1 and a half mins into the call. Maybe it is the echo cancellation on crack stopping your voice from being repeated. Can anyone else try that number and report back? All it does is repeat what you say with a small delay.

Hmm dunno mmarz. I would try it but i haven't spent the money on the groove app yet. I want to make sure it works great before I buy it.

Working perfectly after last update.

Optimus V running aospCMod | AOSP 2.3.3.

No troubleshooting options checked.

Great work! :D

Mmarz when i called that test number it would take up to 30 secs to repeat back what i said. Weird.

I use that test number all the time. It instantly repeats back what I say. Not sure why the echo number works just fine for me and not others. If it takes a long time to repeat what you say, then you are experiencing some major delay. I would imagine your ping to be really high. Maybe run a speedtest to check. I am on the BumbleBee 1.18 rom. I am also using the BumbleBee kernel 1.21.But my rom and kernel do change alot.

Groove IP version 1.1.0
no Troubleshooting boxes checked
Wifi set to never sleep

Have you used it with the latest version of groove ip for longer than a min or two? That is the only number that cuts off my voice. If I make regular calls, they work just fine. It was counter productive for me because I constantly thought I had the audio bug.

The latest update still has the same choppy voice issue, for me. I'm running 2.6.32.33 aospCMod.

I tried with inbound/outbound correction, with and without the routing fix.

The test I use is to call my girlfriends cell.

Voice is broken up, half-garbled and works MAYBE 20% of the time?

It's not a issue with my WIFI, GVoiceCallback + GVoice and gingerbread integrated SIP work fine.

I don't try it more than a few minutes, it either works or doesn't.

Can you try turning off the audio routing and turning on the audio processing checkboxes instead? Incoming and Outgoing audio processing. Just to start with a clean slate, can you restart the phone after turning off the audio routing.

Same issue as before.

I can call a number you specify in a PM via GVoice Callback + SIP vs Groove to give you a comparison.

Good here

Just made a 12 minute call with clear audio on both ends. Stock Optimus V
Received and made several calls on my modded Optimus V between 3 and 16 minutes with absolutely no problems. No troubleshooting check boxes selected on either phone.

Yes, I just got off a 38-min call and a 7-min call. My brother also uses Groove IP, and also has not had a issue with the newest version.

I think we've got two options. If you're not tied to your rom, you can switch to one of the other ones people are having success with. And/or I can send you our debugging apk and we can try and figure out what is different in the rom you have.

mmarz what rom/kernel are you using? I can do a nandroid and test what you are running. You know I like switching roms like underwear anyway ><

To save more work on your end, I will see if anyone knows of a Gingerbread ROM that works well, before considering debugging the ROM.

Speaking of that: Is anybody here using a gingerbread ROM with GrooVe IP successfully?

I meant have you tested groove ip with that test number recently? (909-390-0003) That is the only number that I notice a problem. All my other regular calls are fine. I'm wondering if it is a reliable test to use.

I'm on the nameless rom.

It has been reliable for me, But I guess everyone's mileage will vary. I have used it several times today. We need a few echo numbers to test, so we can eliminate issue's like this.

Edit: I am using it right now to test AOSPCMOD. The Echo Number 909-390-0003 is working fine for me. I will place five 6-min calls. If I don't hit the bug at the end of those calls, I will assume Groove Ip works fine on AOSPCMOD.
