New VOIP option for GV - single app solution: GrooVe IP

Ok found this. We were checking for wifi connected or connecting or obtaining ip address. My guess is that when your WiFi is enabled it may periodically be trying to connect to available access points. That's likely triggering the logic to re-register. Fixed it so now we only look for connected.
Thank you,
However I know it's not trying to connect to a wifi sig as I did testing in the middle of a 200+ acre ranch..
And I know I can't get wifi out here as I've tryed..
This issue only happens when wifi on and when I connect to a 2g (cdma) network..
I'll try the fixed version as who knows it may rid this issue..
Just noting that it's not do to my wifi card trying to connect to a SSID in any way..
So 2g is the reason, just not sure on why the cdma protical would cause this issue-

As for the screen issues when the screen is off-At least on stock 2.2.1 on my V I have yet to have that "ID" issue..

Could be a rom issue if people would learn to post what there running..
It's hard for any deva team to fix issues if users do not post what hardware/software there running..
Also just noting I'm not trying to be a dick on pointing this out~

Get well my friend!

Wow we've been getting some negative reviews lately. Down to 4 stars.
seen that..
B.S. in my book..
Users need to understand how to use the app as well as the limitations any VoIP has..

They have 15mins to screw with the app..
Not your fault they don't know what there doing before they get the app..

That's why I try before I buy (pirate)..
Yet your app is by far the best and easiest to set up..
It's worth the money..
With that said you'll be paid this weekend~

Suggestion:
May be a wise idea to make a site our at least your own forum for Groove IP..

Then we can all gather there as I have seen 11 other threads made (2 on this site)..
Then instead of your teams email being swamped you all can make announcements and what not on there..

Just a thought-

They have a Facebook. Anytime a update is released, I have seen the updates on there. Certainly better then nothing.

GrooVe IP | Facebook

Might be a good idea to start a twitter too. The power of Social networking and word of mouth will bring the business in,

Agree that it's a problem and understand the steps and symptoms. Just saying I haven't been able to reproduce it yet. We're going through the code to see what could cause it. That's usually slower than being able to reproduce it. I put in a change that may fix it, but since I can't reproduce I can't guarantee it'll fix it.

I've got an apk that may have a fix if you want to test it? Otherwise the change will be in the next update.
Sure, will let you know ASAP if it works...thnx

Would it be possible to set a google talk status in addition to being able to set the status message? For example, I'd like my status to be set to 'busy' (or better yet, 'invisible') when logged in using groove ip.

Would this be possible?

Version 1.1.1

- Fix a crash when clicking contacts with a ' in the name
- Call timer should start when the call is connected.
- Only say wifi is connected when in connected state, not connecting or obtaining ip
- Fix Incoming calls hung at ringing forever.
- Fix incoming call screen only appears for 2 seconds on certain phones
- In call dialpad show digits that have been pressed
- Make dialer screen editable so you can add digits to the front or middle
- Add a default area code config

Posted 1.1.2
Removed the WiFi connectivity change as that was causing people to lose registration

Ya I think we could do something like that. I'll write it down.

Ya, We've been looking into a webpage or a forum. Just been a busy few weeks with debugging the Optimus and my surgery.

Yep, I noticed. That's a great feature to have. When I originally signed up for Google Voice. I lived in 317. Now I live in 219. So not having to dial 219 for the local numbers here, is great.

Edit: You have to Use the Groove IP dialer to use it. When using the native dialer, the area code is not added for 7-digit numbers. I can deal with that. Maybe it's something that can be added down the line.

Doh, didn't think of the native dialer. Ok I'll get that in for the next update.

With this update, for best and most consistent voice quality on Optimus V, do you recommend checking the "audio processing" boxes in Troubleshooting section or leaving them off?

HFS is what I used to make my website that I have running on my home server..
That may be worth looking into as well~
HFS ~ HTTP File Server

Great job on the update,
For obvious reasons I can not test it but great job none the less~

EDIT:
Just now noticed that Groove IP only supports 2.1+
Is there anyway you can have it work with 1.5 devices as well?..

Honestly we weren't sure if it was worth the effort to support anything older than 2.1. Wasn't sure how many devices were left with the old OS

Regarding lg optimus v.

When I'm o a call usig groove ip and I receive a call on my VM number it boots me off my groove ip call, any way to fix that?

Also , can anyone recommend any options that help with the lag? I'm on about a 2 second or more lag on 3G or wifi
