The S20 FE 5G has been around for a while.

To replace my 2nd cell (UMIDIGI A11 Pro Max failed within a year, likely due to humidity in our bathroom, lack of IP67 spec... or whatever), I am looking at a S20 FE 5G in the classified ads. My main cell is a S10 provided by our company, totally pleased with it.

The guy claims that it is new out of the box & new. But the pic online shows the model/SN info as barred. I can see a seal, though. But this is easy to set up.

Question, any way to detect if a cell like this has been 'renewed' or not?

Just on this pic above.

Is there a reason you need to know? Not like there's a difference in performance really, and if there's telltale signs of use that you can't tolerate then just return it.

I don't buy used anymore.. too many problems. I'd rather look for sales and pay a little more for brand new... but that's just me ;)

Just as an aside I would never tale my phone into the bathroom. I leave it outside and Bluetooth to my weatherproof, toughened speaker.

I requested the IMEI code on the box. His reply was

Sorry, IMEI code can't be given to you. It's not safe for my phone. I can confirm that the new box of this mobile phone has not been opened, and I have a receipt to take photos for you. You can check whether it is available on the spot after payment. If you have any questions, you can return it to me. Thank you!

Does this reply make sense to you?

It depends on how much you value $250... but that's just me. :o)
