New Z3V Owner - First Impressions

Thanks & yes, I definitely want to get a wireless charger once I pay some more bills -- I did not even know they existed until I bought the phone, what a great invention! Once I cleaned up the background junk & activated battery stamina, it's done better than I expected, so that's great. I've done a couple experiments & even leaving data & syncing on full-time, taking some photos, listening to some music, & fussing with things during the day, 24 hrs was no problem.

DarkJoker, I'm, errr, let's say prone to dropping things (including myself, LOL) quite often, so I wanted at least a little bit of a bumper along with some rubberized grip since the phone is so thin (good thing, mostly) that I need a little bit more to hold on to. My Alias probably bounced off asphalt/rocks/tile at least 437 times (thankfully it never flinched), so I'm a safety hazard for any phone, ha.

Why not get a tempered glass front and rear piece for it?
If I end up getting this phone or the international version or compact, thats the first thing I'd probably do.
I like rocking my phones naked. And thats the closest in can come while being able to see the phone itself still.

Is there a tempered glass option for the rear? Admittedly, I haven't spent too long looking for a tempered glass piece for the rear but so far I've come up empty. The closest I've gotten was some people saying that using a tempered glass piece for the regular Z2 is the best option, but going that route will leave a couple of millimeters or so exposed. So far I've just been using a plastic protector for the rear but if you could point me towards a glass one I'd be very grateful!

What bloatware were you able to get rid of without hurting the phone? I want to get rid of a lot of it as i've been thru 7 of these already...they either keep overheating or freezing.

Also...anyone know where our Lollipop update is? Verizon STILL hasn't done this.

I disabled a LOT (obviously they won't let you uninstall the junk) -- it took two days of picking through, but you can go into your App Manager under settings & I went through each one & turned off notifications & disabled everything I didn't want. Of course, the phone will give you the "misbehave" message, but simply disabling rubbish like the NFL thing or "What's New" is not uninstalling it & doesn't hurt a thing.

I also immediately added 360 Total Security (in Google store) -- I run it on both my personal & work laptops, it's a recent discovery (thank you, my beloved CNET!) but it's GREAT! I am Windows person, but I HATE HATE HATE IE, etc, so I primarily use Firefox/Thunderbird & established open source virus software. But the 360 is a great asset as it will help quickly & immediately shut down things that autostart that you don't want, keep your RAM cleaned up, as well as fast virus scans & immediate auto protection of anything you download. Also super user friendly clean interface while still giving you total control & being smart enough not to clean out things that are actually important.

Yes, I kind of love it, ROFL!

Search this on amazon. I can't post links yet.
StilGut® Tempered Glass Screen Protector (Front and Back) for Sony Xperia Z3

Theres 2 options, make sure you choose the correct one. I'm assuming it will fit Verizon's variant.

The z3 and z3v are different sizes. If I recall correctly if you get the z3 version it won't fit quite right, may be a milimeter or two short.

Hm, doesn't seem like it. One option is for 2 of the front protectors, the other is for one set of front and back protectors. As unfortunate as it is, it seems like our only option is to get the regular Z2 glass backs, or maybe try to go for protectors made for the China-only variant of the Z2/Z3 (forgot which one specifically, but on XDA it seemed it was only off by a few tenths of a millimeter in each measurement).
