I am new to Android OS, I was wondering if there was any way to do screen shots and share them like there is with Apple. I have seen several things that talk about rooted and non rooted. I don't want to do any thing illegal or to break my phone... just wondering if there is a legitimate way to get this feature... I understand it is not built into the OS. I don't know if it matters but I own a Samsung Captivate. Thanks!!!

In order to take screen screen shots you'll need to be rooted. Rooting the phone is not illegal, in my opinion, but does have its risk if you are not tech savvy or can't follow directions. I would suggest reading the Captivate forums and look for root directions for your phone and follow the procedure carefully if its something you decide to do.
