Newbie to rooting, unlocking, etc.??

Vcast does try to sync often. I notice as I've got it blocked via droidwall and I see it constantly on the blocked requests list.

Almost as often as Vcast is the calendar app.

Okay, I've offically unlocked my Rezound. I am new to this so I have a couple of questions:

1. What are the steps to remove all the bloatware?
2. How will unlocking, and removing bloatware affect getting the official ICS update?

you have to root after you unlock so you can start doing stuff.

then most people, including me, use Titanium Backup. this way you can FREEZE all the bloat without removing it. if you need to have the programs on to receive an OTA update, just go back into Titanium Backup and unfreeze them. voila.

Yeah, I unlocked and rooted. I used the ZergRush method to root, I installed Titanium Backup Pro and backed everything up and then uninstalled all the bloatware. If and when needed I can restore it all if necessary.

it's so nice not to see vsync and stocks and weather under the Accounts and Sync setting.

BUCKIFVR - since you actually uninstalled everyhing can you check on something?

when i tap on a picture and goto MORE so i can select SET AS, even though i froze VCAST it still shows up in that menu as an option 'VCast Videos'. does it show up for you that you have totally uninstalled Vcast

Yeah, VCast videos still shows up when I tap More. That button must be part of the Gallery software, not the VCast software. And yes I did uninstall VCast with Titanium Backup

You don't want to forget the fact that some people like myself and i'm sure at least 1/2 of the people on this thread doing all this stuff is in our nature. If i'm not tweaking something either my computer,tablet of phone I'm not happy. I don't really mean not happy but it's when I'm happiest. Its like climbing a mountain that no one ever climbed before if you know what I mean.
I've often thought I have crashed my computer on purpose just so I have something to fix. Sick HUH.

thanks for checking. guess going to have to wait for another tweak or a future ROM to fix that. it annoys the heck out of me! VCAST is my most hasted piece of bloat ever!
