Newcomer to the Droid scene

Hello all,

I am currently a BlackBerry Storm 2 user getting ready to jump ship over to the Android boat.

I am also a Verizon customer with no desire to switch carriers.

Right now I am torn between the Droid and the Incredible.

I like having an actual keyboard in addition to the touchscreen, but I also like the speed and camera specs the Incredible offers. I guess I am unsure of HTC quality so thats what concerns me as I am not too familiar with them.

Any suggestions for me? Incredible, Droid, or hold out for something better (if so when are new devices coming?)

I have the Droid Incredible and it is the best smart phone I have used so far. I came from a BB Curve 8330 and it has been a major improvement over that. I too was stuck between the Droid and the Droid Incredible when looking for a new phone. I was apprehensive about getting the Incredible because of the lack of a keyboard but am now glad that I chose this phone. Coming from my curve I didn't think I would enjoy typing on a touchscreen and it would be hard to master but now after using it I have to say that I love it. The things that won me over were the speed of the Incredible, camera and I liked the way the sense UI looked and performed on the phone. In the end it's all down to personal preference and which phone you can see yourself using on daily basis and enjoying the experience. I highly suggest watching any video reviews of each phone, researching both and also going to the store to play with them to see which one you would rather have. Good Luck

Hey welcome. I went ahead and ordered the Incredible and still waiting on it. I can't give detailed review because I don't know enough about these devices but after using both in the verizon stores really it was the speed of the Incredible that swayed me, not to mention what the reps had to say! : ) I think I made the right choice.

I'm sure other members can make a better arguement for each device.

BTW I too am a happy VZW customer!

I went for the Incredible, just because the keyboard on the DROID is (IMHO) useless, and it felt slow, playing with it side-by-side with the Incredible.

but its all up to you. Go into the store and mess around with both. See which one you like the best. Although keep in mind that the DROID is about six months older than the Incredible.

As for HTC's quality, I've heard and seen nothing but good things.

Well Im leaning towards the Incredible. Of course since I just joined Verizon in January its going to cost me a pretty penny.......... but looking on ebay I might as well order direct from Verizon whenever they get them as the prices on ebay are about even with or MORE than no-contract price through Verizon.
