newish Android user with rooted phone and question

I saw in your first post at THIS LINK that I should not do a wipe data/factory reset because it would brick the phone. So, I did a "wipe cache partition" and a "Wipe Dalvik Cache" and then a "install zip from sdcard"

Was that not correct?
The phone seems to work good for the most part, but I've just noticed the occasional trouble with the speech to text.

What should I have done if that was not correct?

You should not do a factory reset in the Phone's settings menu when booted up. In the recovery menu, you can use factory reset, it is safe.

Just so you won't be nervous, instead of factory reset, in recovery go under mounts and format the following:
data
cache
system
boot

Then flash the ROM, then gapps if needed with your ROM, then reboot.

This will take a long time, and require you to reinstall all of your apps. If that doesn't work, ask the dev about possible permission issues. She's a very helpful dev! ;)

I kept often having forced crashes when trying to use text to speech, so I did re-flash Harmonia on the phone. I used the recovery to do a factory reset and clear cash, but then also formatted the folders above. After doing that and putting the ROM back on, I did have 176MB free.

Now I'm working on getting all the apps back. Hopefully the text to speech will work better.

Thanks for the help.
