anyone know if this has the 800 mhz band like the evo 3d to support the newer 3g signals from the iden network?
 
Yes. The FCC documents confirmed this. It is a tri-band cdma device.

Sorry but what does this tri-band mean? I hear that the 3D has signal problems and bad reception. This wouldn't cause that would it? anyone know where i can read up on this? thanks
 
if i understand correctly if it has the tri-band itll help out with coverage when sprint removes the iden network and just combines it with the cdma meaning better coverage for the phones that have the tri-band from what i hear this will start hahppening towards the end of this year in some areas...idk if thats the cause of the reception problems for evo 3d though

This was discussed a bit in the Photon forum before it's release, as it was found via the FCC docs that it surprisingly didn't have support for the 800mhz band.
