Hi everyone,

I bought my Nexus 10 back in January after switching from an iPad. Five months on, and 5 days before I have a long flight and was getting my Nexus ready for films, it has decided to stop charging.

I have tried about 5 different cables, and none work. Google Play want to take money out of my account to send a replacement (money I need for holiday!), and now I am facing being without a tablet, while my other half has his iPad and can watch films to his hearts content :(

Is there any way at all I can fix this, or get it fixed, I am so gutted to be honest. It is definitely the mini USB port, and I don?t mind sending it back after I have returned from holiday, as there will be absolutely no urgency at all. But for now there is.

Do you think the pogo charger will work if I can find stock in the UK?

Then there is the problem of transferring files for the holiday over, most of which I can I suppose do wirelessly?

Any help really really appreciated.

Thank you xxx

A very upset Nexus user :(

There are a several threads that deal with this type of problemin the forums reading them may provide further help.

Some of the common solutions are Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds, leave the device plugged into the usb to the wallwart that came with the device [power outlet] NOT A PC for 4 hours undisturbed.

IF you get a pogo charger that should help if the Micro USB port is the problem.

A pogo cable should work. Are sure the problem is not the charger? I am pretty sure you can try the charger from the iPad. Just make sure it is 5volts at 2 amps.

If you plug the tab into a computer with a USB cord, does it show up as device the way it normally would? ...or does nothing happen?

I'd also try a different charger, and microUSB charger (like one for a phone) should work, though it will most likely charge slower if it does work. Just make sure it says 5V and 2A or less.

The OP states 'it is definitely the USB port' which sounds like they are aware of something not mentioned in the post, like physical damage? If you return via Google it places a hold on your card for the money, but does not technically withdraw it. Now, that's not to say that's actually as good as Google would like you to believe - my RMA from 2 months ago still shows "pending" in Wallet, but at least the balance on my card doesn't reflect it...
