Nexus 4 and Galaxy Nexus users, what do you think?

The thing that makes me think the camera will be better is that it's a Sony unit. Already places like the Verge have said that performance in day to day is hands down better than the 4.

I've been checking reviews online and it certainly looks like the reviews on the camera have been positive.

I'm moving from a Nexus 4 to the Nexus 5.

I agree that yearly upgrades are the way to go. What object do you touch or use more every day than your phone? What else could possibly warrant $350/yr? (less if you sell old hardware)

What else brings more satisfaction when operating well? What else brings more frustration when it's laggy and uncooperative?

I had a N4 for a while but did not like the 16GB of space, my music takes up about half of that. The N5 sounds way better in every aspect. I have mine coming!

I'm a huge Nexus fan. I love their stuff. I have the GNex and the Nexus 7 and and extremely happy with both. I haven't upgraded my phone because it still works and looks like new. I see no reason to spend money when what I have is still fine. I'm a Nexus fan, just not a change my phone three times a year fan. To me it's just a waste of money to change phones that often. It's an issue of contentment or perhaps a lack of.

I've only had two phones for the whole 2 year contract. On Sprint the HTC Evo Shift. And on Verizon my GNex. I don't care what anyone says the Evo Shift had the best physical keyboard outside of a BlackBerry. And I bought the GNex based on the thought it was going to be treated like the other Nexus devices. Nope. But thanks to the Dev Community and all the great ROM's it lasted me 2 years. Now I have the Note 3 and I hope that it'll last me 2 years or even beyond. I don't believe in switching out phones just to have the latest and greatest.

For me, it's a hobby which I'm passionate about. My other passion is sport bikes. I buy a new one every 2 or 3 years. They cost 15 g's., not to mention accessories, riding gear, and tires. Major bucks, but I spend cos it makes me happy. What about guys with hobbies like cars or home theater etc.

So, my expenditure for 4 phones in four years is minor. I appreciate being frugal and keeping a phone for 2 years, but I just can't do it. Plus I crackflash stuff almost daily and I like to learn to hack new stuff. My n4 is getting stale already. :o

Hmmm, same expensive hobby as me! Only a motorcycle rider understands the insanity of owning a motorcycle and the costs behind it. ;-)

James and I were thinking it'd be nice to see what previous Nexus phone users think of the Nexus 5, both before and after the phones start hitting peoples' doorsteps. Personally, I think it's absolutely a step in the right direction. The comparisons to the 2013 Nexus 7 had me optimistic and enthusiastic; the official announcement and reveal has done nothing to change that.

Anyone else?

I've owned every Nexus and I'm very excited atm. I like my N4 but I'm constantly afraid the back is gonna break and I'm going to be left with a paper weight. It's honestly the only complaint I have about the phone and so it seems like this new one is going to fit my needs exceptionally.

I do blame Verizon. But I still feel like Google could have pushed more. But I guess they didn't want to push.

Actually blame Verizon customers. Not enough care about the Nexus line for the all greedy Verizon to do anything about it. Also most customers are so much in love with them that the ONLY thing they do about it is complain on internet forums. Not enough walk with their money to somewhere else for Verizon to even give it a second thought.

I never would have guessed except for your nick. :P It's a shame Vale don't have the speed like he used to. Maybe he does, but Marquez, Lorenzo, Pedrosa are just faster.
Yeah I watch motogp, wsbk, ama roadracing religiously.
While I watch, I do some flashing. lol

Yeah 46 can't keep up with the Spaniards, but he's the best of the rest still. Marquez is a Beast! I really hope he can hold off Jorge in Valencia.

Back on topic. I'm one of the 1,000's of Verizon Galaxy Nexus users who are counting their blessings that the N5 is here just as our contracts are expiring with Verizon. Hello T-Mobile and N5

On a side note. I think an N4 would make one hell of a back up phone to the N5 if anything were to happen. Something Verizon users will have to consider. Our Galaxy Nexuses are defunct as a back up to the N5.

Agree, BUT I am not against saving some bucks. Therefore, I will be selling my n4 to make an already affordable phone into a REALLY affordable one.

I'll roll the dice and bet (hope) nothing happens.

I wonder how many Verizon Galaxy Nexus users who are on grandfathered unlimited, have moved on to a new phone and couldn't be happier but still with Verizon? $139 for an LG G2 with a $78 monthly phone bill with 100Gb of monthly data is pretty hard to beat. I'll need a cell phone and internet over the next 20 years so contracts don't scare me.

There is such a small amount of people that care about the Nexus line. If we all left Verizon they would still have tons of subscribers. As long as the iPhone is on Verizon there will always be subscribers. And people can't leave when the service is great. All I can personally do is wait for VoLTE to come.

Its not that at all. Its that the other carriers Do Not deliever a useable signal .What is the point in having a phone that receives no data because other carriers havent step up to provide a wider coverage area .
It would be like oh look at my cool N5
(response): How do you like it ?
(reply) Its great when I get a signal to bad it only gets a signal 25% of the day .
All carriers are not great in every part of the country they all have their strong and weak areas .This area just happens to be a really bad area for AT&T,Sprint, and T-Mobile its their fault more people dont leave VZW whom are basically given no choice here .I know people on AT&T and Sprint personally and they all complain about the signal when out in more rural areas,or on the fringes of a city, also when I mention T-Mobile they just laugh as if Im joking :) T-Mobile here is bascially useless in or out of the city.

You just said the same thing I did but changed the wording. :p

I'm not saying every Verizon customer should walk away. I'm saying that enough did then it would tell Verizon something, the customers are not clamoring for the N5 so Verizon has no reason to give it to their customers. So their for the current customers who want the Nexus 5 have to suffer.

I'd venture a guess that you're in the minority where you live. I suppose I'm blessed enough to be in an area with semi decent coverage all around. I lose coverage on T-Mo in some buildings but WiFi is plentiful and if I lose a signal for a few minutes then I don't have a problem with that. I don't need it every second of every day. But more often then not I have a signal and it works fine. AT&T would be better for me but unfortunately I'm stuck under contract for the next 10 months with T-Mo.

At the end of the day all I'm saying is that Verizon isn't going to cave unless it affects their bottom line. Like the iPhone, that's a phone they couldn't just be the only one without. If Google ever gets to that point(Which it won't)then I can see Verizon allowing it on their network.

I'm walking away from Verizon. I walked away from Sprint on the Nexus S 4G when the GN was released on Verizon. Definitely a better network. The last year on T-Mobile with my N4 showed me it's viable, at least where I live and travel. Consolidating phones and dropping VzW in December when my 2yrs is up.
