Nexus 4 Price Drop: 8GB $199, 16GB $249

So I called Google and asked seeing as I haven't got my n4 yet but ordered it on July 13th, (my friend has it) and not turned it on, is there any chance I can get some money back? They said no its a strict 15day rule, at least they were nice about it.

You're answering the question out of its context, which is "Who would [go to Best Buy and] pay $599 when you can get it for $199 from Play?"

I can't believe Best Buy has to pay more than what regular purchasers pay for the phone, which would mean $300 (or $400 now) pure profit on each phone.

Well, to be fair you could say that about pretty much everything BB sells, yet they still somehow manage to key stores open. Someone must be buying so those $60 HDMI cables!

I gave in tonight on this deal. I'm completely loathing my current phone (Sony Xperia U) and the wait for the Moto X on T-Mobile and the fear that the unlocked/off-contract price will be completely unreasonable shoved me into this. I'm looking forward to having a very nice phone for once rather than just a good enough phone. I /really/ did wanna wait, but Moto is making me sad.

Plus the price, if I don't eat out for lunch for a week or two, I'll be good.

same, i could not pass it up with this price, might buy one fore the GF too.

FYI, I ordered a new 16gb nexus 4 for $249 on 8/28 and I just received it today 8/30 at 3pm. Just thought some of you that ordered one after the price drop would like to know if the posted shipping times were accurate. I did pay the extra $4 for 2-day shipping, but wasn't expecting it to even ship til today and get here on Tuesday or Wednesday.

That was some seriously fast shipping! :)

What hardware revision you get? If 12 or higher can you test with a Nokia dt900 charger?

I've had all the nexus phones except the n4, but at that price I couldn't help it....my S4 is great and was going to get an N7 but at 249, I couldn't help myself. It was definitely an impulse buy. Maybe now I get get google voice and google wallet again since t- mobile totally disabled them on the S4.

Is the n4 worth it at this new price? I know the n5 is coming out soon (in all likely hood) but I really have no need for a super ultra mega high end phone. My main concern is will the n4 still be usable in two years. I would just use for calls, text, and web browsing.

Based off what you just described, the Nexus 4 is perfect for you.

Hmm... I forgot that it doesn't have sd card storage which I need for music. Not a huge fan of Google music app as it doesn't have eq settings. I'll think about it.
