Nexus 4 Price Drop: 8GB $199, 16GB $249

I ordered mine yesterday. Currentlyuploading music to Google Music. Only sour bit is that I need to convert my smart playlists because Google Music can't use them right now.

Looking forward to stock Android :)

I have ordered one as well and it will be delivered by September 10th.

Really, looking forward to it arriving - been away from Android for a couple of years.

Yeah that's what it said with my order as well but I hope that the 3-5 days will be ok. Can't believe it'll take that long. I want my Android experience sooner rather than later.

I ordered mine last week and got it Friday. I had the optimus g pro so getting use to the smaller screen. I like it a lot and this completes my nexus trifecta since I have the 10 and 7 (fhd)

Hmm... I forgot that it doesn't have sd card storage which I need for music. Not a huge fan of Google music app as it doesn't have eq settings. I'll think about it.

You can simply just use a different music app in that case.

Sissy ordered one this morning. I told her to do it last night, but she forgot and the 199 had sold out. Still, 249 for awesome phone. She's pretty psyched.

I ordered mine on the 30th and it says shipping by the 2nd. Still no tracking or status change today. Wonder if I won't get one now that they are out of stock even though they took my order?

I ordered one last week, it was on the UPS truck to be delivered Friday, UPS screwed up, and it went to the wrong address, so they send it back to the depot once they recovered it from the wrong address. I had originally sent it to a work address.
I called and said to have it delivered back on Tuesday after they asked me if I want it delivered after Labor Day. Then UPS screwed up again, as the order tracking then stated they will not deliver it, but said I had requested that I would pick it up (I didn't request any such thing). I called back and said redeliver it Tuesday, but they said they can't override a hold request even though it was their mistake. They said only Google can recall it back to them, that's it.
I can't get to their hub, so I asked Google to recall the package. Considering UPS keeps screwing this up, I asked it to be returned, as UPS more likely than not will lose it, then it will take forever to get a refund. Google recalled it for me, and said once they get it back, they will refund the full price including shipping since I never took possession of it.
Google support was great, UPS was the worst. Google said I can order another one and I can ship it to my home address this time, as there shouldn't be an issue, as once they get the package back from UPS I will get my refund, but I don't want two charges on my card (I know I should get one charge reversed once they get the phone back), but I will use my dying Gnex for as long as it lasts. This really soured me on the whole thing.

Also, what do you mean by "eq settings"? This?

I agree. My concern is that in two years, and maybe even in one year, T-Mobile's HSPA footprint will have shrunk. Most of that LTE coverage isn't coming from new towers, it's coming from repurposed old towers. I'm not an expert, so I don't know how that works exactly, but the risk in my mind is that as LTE coverage expands, HSPA coverage will shrink. That is what I'm worried about; not that HSPA is inadequate now, but what it will be like down the road. Even in the best case scenario, with resources being poured into LTE, HSPA coverage will never expand again, even if it doesn't diminish. Not to say the Nexus 4 isn't still a great deal; at prices like that you can probably afford to upgrade when you have to, but it's getting to the point now where I'd hesitate to buy a non-LTE device. It wouldn't necessarily be a deal-breaker, I'd just have to think twice.
I think it's already happening. I have had my Nexus 4, Nexus 7 and iPhone 4S activated at the same time, each on their own accounts. Each of them keep getting bumped to edge speeds in areas that has full HSPA+, speeds that would go up to 26Mbps on my Nexus 4. Simply switch the phone or tablet to airplane mode and then off again fixes it until next time. I read of others having this problem as well.

The only device that I own that hasn't defaulted to edge is my iPad Mini and that is because it is LTE capable. It always stays on LTE at my house, the only place I get LTE on T-Mobile.

Just jumped on the 16gb before it sells out. Bought it for the wife. At that price waiting will only cost me more. I can wait until this time next year for the next Nexus to go on sale to replace my Galaxy Nexus. IF its on Verizon. If not then it will be three years old with no replacement. I can't believe I will be on the same phone for three years but I can't go back to locked bootloaders and the GPE's or dev editions are cost prohibitive.

i really want to jump on the 16gb but with the N5 releasing around the end of Oct, I am torn!

Trying to research who I can activate this phone with. I am still on Verizon unlimited with a cracked screen RAZR Max. So I hastily ordered the 16GB version thinking I was solving my Verizon issue. So if nothing here in West Tennessee works well I will keep it in sealed box for those who can use it on real high speed network.

I am out of contract with Verizon and could leave but Sprints coverage drops off quickly in the country. At&T is $60 for talk/ text / 2GB. Friend has straight talk SII and it works but only 3g I believe. Any ideas ?

Don't be let down by thinking its slow legacy 3G.. Their 3G means access to UMTS, hspa, and HSPA+. Just not LTE but hspa+ and hspa are just as good for most average consumers. :) I'd suggest net10 over S.T any day.
