Nexus 4 will be available today at Noon PST

So I wonder what the 1-2 weeks really means?

That's probably how long it's going to take Google to get stock before they're able to ship your phone; depending on when you ordered. But, when they do get around to shipping your phone, it will be shipped via 2-day shipping. So, it should be here before Christmas ;)

So the people who ordered the 8gb in the 4-5 week window, would it still stay in that frame even though it now says 7-8 weeks? I hope they ship by waves.

I believe so. Whenever you ordered determines what time frame is displayed when you go to checkout. It's an evolving message that probably changes depending on the number of orders placed. Google probably chose to go this route so that everybody could get their orders in. I think it's a lot more refreshing to see that you're actually given a time frame, instead of seeing "Sold Out" and having to wonder when Google will restock again. I hope you were able to order one :D

They better ship in waves! When I ordered a couple hours ago I was told 1-2 weeks shipping for the 16GB, now it says 4-5 weeks in the store.

Well, it's good they've finally decided to essentially do pre-ordering, even if that's not what they're calling it.

I wrote a script to pound the submit button (took 2 min) 150 times at a shot. It went right through to the final screen and I was in at the 1-2 weeks part.

I'm not going to buy a Nexus 4 yet, but I went to the page to see if I could get it to go. I selected the 8GB one, added it to the cart, and it worked flawlessly. However, the wait is 7-8 weeks lol. I'm not that thirsty ;); Ill wait until the next Nexus comes out and everybody wants to get rid of their Nexus 4s :p.I hope you guys are finally able to get your phones. And I hope the international community is able to get another shot at grabbing it real soon.

I saw that also and gagged...I plan on moving within a few weeks ...so im debating just buying the T-mobil one inside the store off contract or just upgrade my iphone 4 to the iphone 5 (ugh)

A lot of people said they wanted pre-ordering. That's exactly what you're getting.

I'd be delighted if we could get this pre-ordering out-side of the US - would stop me having to monitor the page all the time just to see if I can even place an order...

At least if it's ordered, it's in a queue to be processed, eventually...

Yeah, now that they are on a pre-order model, I'm surprised they aren't selling it internationally again. But given the problems they had fulfilling demand on the last launch, they may have decided to keep it simpler this time and focus on the domestic market where they have a logistics partner (only allowing shipment via UPS 2-day tells me they are using UPS or one of their logistics partners for warehousing and shipping, which is smart).

Mine should ship in 4-5wks *sigh*
I hope it'll be before that though.

Thanks, will do! We were planning on seeing what "Diner, Drive-Ins and Dives" Guy Fieri had visited. I'll add this to the list!
He also visited Kumas Corner, which is bout 10 minutes away from DMK Burger Bar. They have "metal" themed burgers and theyre HUGE. The place is extremely small though so if you go for dinner expect a 3 hour wait. Have a good time in Chicago!

What about the bumpers any news on those where can I get updates. Any help would be awesome.

As I am still waiting for any news regarding UK - could any of you US guys give some update on what the situation on the other side of the pond is?

I mean, after the initial rush, in the US: Can you place the order or is it out of stock? Does the website now work normally or is it still buggy? Are the orders shipped soon, or is everything de facto pre-ordered?

Thank you!

Are you in a contract? If you're about to be out of contract, then it would be best to buy the Nexus 4 and use it prepaid: you would make the extra money back that you spent on it. On the other hand, if you're still in a contract, you can always upgrade to the iPhone 5, and then sell it if you don't like it. You would make more than enough money to buy a Nexus 4, even straight from T-mobile.
