Nexus 5: About to order

Yeah, I got lucky that I had enough in already purchased goods to cover it. Otherwise I'd probably just hold off because there really isn't anything wrong with the N5. It's honestly a great phone. I wouldn't have any issue using it until the N6 comes out. But the GPE M8 just caught my eye.

Yeah I love the M8. I'm gonna see what I can do. I'll keep you all posted.

You have to do your research, look at nexus 5 vs m8 YouTube videos, look and the prices, what do you care about the most? Plastic vs metal to me here is not a factor because the nexus built quality is outstanding, regardless I have a case on my phone... So it doesn't matter. Do you like simplicity? Or do the extra m8 features are the extra 300? Look into those factors.. Do you like HTCs Sence Android OS overlay or would you rather have a vanilla stock pure android experience? Nexus has the same internals as the 600 dollar phones so it comes down to the little things.

Exactly this. Also, remember on T-Mobile, no matter which phone you choose, your gonna pay full price and then some more.....no subsidies over there.

This might be the best idea. You still get the M8 look and feel, with the hardware, and official Vanilla Android, which as far as I knew, was so very close to Nexus you would have to really compare them side by side to see what is different.

I've only recently switched to AT&T and I would definitely stay with them. At least for me, T-Mobile is still in 2G in my area. I live in a town of about 20k people and a county with about 70k people, and I'm still stuck in 2003 data on T-Mobile. I also get great service with AT&T and with two phones (and a discount for being a county employee) I pay $122/mo with AT&T for 10gb of shared data.

Actually paying full price for a phones at tmobile still comes out cheaper in the 2 year run then getting a phone for $200 and paying at&t monthly its around a 300 dollar difference at the end of the 2 years. So at the end of the day.. you are paying full price for your phone at ATT.

yeah but not unlimited? For one line at Tmobile unlimated its $80/Mo . At&t does not offer unlimated anymore.. but hey there 4GB plan is already $110/Mo !!!!! So do the math between the full phone price(650) and the discounted price you get at(200) ATT + the Monthly plans. Which one comes out cheaper in a 2 year run? around $250 Difference, i mean if the $250 makes a difference or not idk

At charges 110/mo for 4GB Tmobile 80/mo unlimited.

Att phone 200
Tmobile phone 650

Do the math in a two year run. Its not a big deal but you end up saving around $250 with Tmobile.

AT&T may just work better for him. Some don't require unlimited.

Either way he bought the M8 on AT&T.

I'd like unlimited but don't need it on Wi-Fi most of the time

I don't think so. First of all, you are not taking into account the amount you pay to AT&T for your M8, which is $200.

Secondly, I think you are comparing apples to oranges - i.e. T-Mobile's unlimited plans to your 6 GB shared plan. 6 GB shared for 2 phones is 3 GB per phone, so your plan cost on T-Mobile would be $50+$30 plus 2 $10 data add-ons to upgrade each line to 3 GB. The total for that is $100 a month for the plan. Then you have to figure in phone payments. At approximately $25 a month for the M8, and assuming you get 2 M8's, that's $150 a month.

Compare that to your $150 a month plan plus 2 M8's (apples to apples) at $200 each from AT&T - which is an additional $400, spread over 24 months which is another $16.67 a month.

And I'm not even taking into account the money you would save by trading in your iPhone 5S to T-Mobile.

Thanks for trying to save me some money but not that much to be concerned. AT&T is better in my area

I brought my own two phones to AT&T for me an my wife. I get a 17% discount through my job and I pay $122 a month after taxes for 10gb of shared data. It's a sick deal and with wifi I don't ever come close.
