So, after kicking myself in the head for leaving Android for apple(Big mistake) I' coming home to where I belong, But I'm a little torn right now. I do not know if I want a Nexus 5 or any other device. I have been doing research on all devices like the HTC one, Moto X, and Galaxy S4, to be fair that Nexus 5 is just so sexy. I have received great info from the forums in the past. So, once again I turn to you oh powerful android users, please let me know your thoughts, and if you have any other devices that you think I would like, please let me know.

I do not own either products, I actually have the LG G2, which is similar in specs to the Nexus 5. Choosing the phone is about figuring out what you want. Samsung adds a lot of extra user apps and hardware. The GS4 can tell you the amount of light in a room, the temperature, and your elevation. The GS4 has extra little apps like Watch-on and S-Health. The GS4 runs fairly smooth, I did notice some lag when I owned the phone for several months. The Nexus 5 is plain Jane, Google android. Runs fast, no lag. It is built with no extra bloatware like the GS4.

My comparatives right now... I own the Nexus 10 and the Note 10.1 2014 edition. Both are equally fast, but because of all the extra additives from Samsung I use the Note and will be selling the Nexus 10.

The decision is yours, and most people will tell you the same. The Nexus provides speed, where as the Samsung provides additional user functions.

Thanks for the info. I think speed is what I'm looking for.

Keep in mind that two of those features are a removable battery and micro-SD card. If you're hard on your battery or want an extra 64GB of storage for music, videos and pictures, then the S4 looks a lot better in comparison unless you can get a 64GB HTC One.

Camera quality tends to be a differentiator between phones as well. I haven't paid very close attention to what's "best" between the phones you're considering, but it may be important to you.

The big advantage of the new Motorola phones is the battery life and extra "always on" features.

So, really I can see reasons to recommend any of the phones the OP listed. It just depends on how the phone will be used.
