Hi Guys, I have a question.

Yesterday I was using my nexus 5 on its first battery rundown. I was updating my apps (Google earth) when the handset ran out of battery for the first time & shut down whilst still in the middle of updating my Google earth app. Will this cause any damage to the is/software or anything?

Thanks alot

It shouldn't. The OS is very compartmentalized. At worst, you would have to uninstall and re-install the app.

Thanks! Also, I have a battery question. When I received my nexus, I was too excited and forgot to charge it. I let it run all the way down to zero; till it shut down on the first charge. I read somewhere that I have to charge it as soon as I can and also that I should try not to let the battery to run till completely zero. Will my actions alrdy hv damaged my battery?

No. The stuff about not letting your battery drain to zero is a cumulative thing. It won't make a difference unless you do it all the time. And even then you won't notice it until you do it for a while.

Thanks man, anyway, when i charged my nexus 5, i realised that it charges really slowly and even with the original accessories and plugged in to the wall charger, it shows charging (usb) and not ac. Why is this so?

The battery meter is not as accurate as people think it is. That is the OS basically trying to guess at what your real battery level is at a given moment. So it needs some charge cycles before it's predictions become accurate.

I don't think you need to drain it to zero to do this though. But it will get more accurate with time.

I understand what you mean. But why doesn't it show charging ac, instead, showing charging (usb) despite plugging it in the wall charger?
