Nexus 6: Camera Pictures! Lets see them.

Lowlight has been great. Just received my N6 yesterday. Need to figure out red eye but that's on me. So impressed with this phone.

Thank you, Raddichio. I'm an ardent amateur photographer with many thousands in professional gear. This camera is capable of making some really nice images. It has a new Sony CMOS sensor with a Sony compound lens that is quite excellent for its small size.

The shape of a stadium makes for great Panorama shots.
This is from today's Steelers/Falcons game.

Mav.

Sent from my Sprint Tri-Band Nexus 6.

Mav and Chuck and anyone else who have posted pictures of animals, love these shots! and Chuck is that cat a Maine ****? I see the displayed "M" on their forhead and that little kitty is wearing it proudly!

Yes He is a Main ****......and he knows he rules the roost.

Someone put their lunch, so I'll post mine from yesterday. Delicious!

HDR on, cropped, but otherwise unedited

This is by no means a comment on the posters of this thread, but the pictures here look universally bad. Most are far too dark and/or have terrible light balance. I've yet to take a good photo with this camera.

You say universally bad, but what's your frame of reference for comparison? If versus a DSLR, I'd agree in a heartbeat. If versus typical smartphones, I'd be curious what phone you feel does the job universally better.

Versus pictures I've seen taken with Samsung Note 4, or any iPhone 5/6.

You're looking at pictures in a vacuum, without context of performance.

You might find it more educational to observe comparisons where reviewers have taken pictures with various phones (the above included) of the same exact subject material in varied conditions. As to relative performance overall, the folks at DxOMark (a pretty solid authority in the realm of photography) rated the Nexus 6 as one of the best phone cameras they've ever tested, falling behind the iPhone 6 (top ranked) and just slightly behind the Galaxy S5 (which, iirc, is the same camera setup as the Note 4) - but ahead of the iPhone 6.

Of course, quality is subjective, and always in the eye of the beholder. IMHO the Nexus 6 is a very good phone shooter (and light years ahead of the prior Nexus models).
