Nexus 6: Camera Pictures! Lets see them.

TraderGary, definitely sharper, especially vs the galaxy nexus!

Worth pointing out that that Canon model was released over 7 years ago. I doubt the Nexus 6 would fare as well against its descendant model.

True, but to have a phone that can compete with an average point & shoot is what I am happy with. We are expecting our 3rd baby any day now and I wanted something I could capture pretty good quality pics with. I hate having to carry around my phone, point and shoot & an HD camcorder. This kind of covers all bases in any situation for me. Its not a dslr or anything, but it suits me nicely.

More pics taken with the Nexus 6. In many ways, the camera is up there with the iPhone 6/Plus. Wish the camera software was just as intuitive. The Nexus 6 camera overall does a good job and is consistent, unlike the Xperia Z models which have disappointed me each time!

I am testing a new camera app called Manual Camera, not sure if it's been mentioned on here or not, but I'm blown away with the quality of picture on my Nexus 6 when using it. It doesn't have front facing camera or HDR yet, but it will. It takes much better and faster pics in regular mode though. Worth trying out for the day, if you don't like it after toying with it, just get a refund.

To each their own. I am excited to see where the developer takes this thing. I still use Google camera for HDR+ but I don't always want to use that. Just something fun to play with.

I downloaded Manual Camera and donated the price to the developer. I am going to use the RAW file feature as I am a dedicated long-time Photoshop user. The app appears to be well thought out and well implemented.

I mean Manual Camera was something fun to play with. Google camera HDR+ has taken the best photos I've ever taken with a phone camera. I wasn't putting down or trashing the Google cam, I've just been able to get better non hdr pics using manual camera.

I wish I understood camera settings a little better than I do. I try these apps, but I definitely do not know what I'm doing. I have zero experience with photography of any kind, so I always look to these forums for tips and advice. Actually, if you end up tinkering with manual camera and end up finding some perfect settings, please share. I don't own a real camera, so I rely on my phone for everything.
