Nexus 6P Google Play is so slow

So you personally think this could be resolved in a 6.1 patch or something?

I've been doing a lot of Play Store updates with this phone and haven't personally noticed the issue people in this thread are having on this phone or any other device which leads me to believe it's a 6.0 thing with Play Services depending on what region you're in.

So meaning if this is a 6.0 issue then I should have the same issue when I connect my phone to another WiFi network. Which I have not yet done. This wasn't an issue at all until randomly one day it started to happen. I wonder if this had to do with the security update Google pushed out in November!?!

Would it make sense if this exact same thing was happening on my tablet as well? Google seems to think its my router or ISP since it downloads fine when connected to cellular data.
Have you reset your router/modem?

I don't think this is a 6.0 issue. How could it be? This is the first I'm hearing about slow downloads on Google play store. I'm on 6.0 and have no issues at all.

What kind of Internet do you have? DSL? Cable? What type of router do you have? Make/model?

We have a 6p and a nexus 7 2013 WiFi on 6.0 and an Xperia Z1 and Z3 on 5.11 and haven't had any slowdowns on Play Store so I can only assume this is a regional issue.

I wish there was a way of seeing if there was a regional issue. I'm in Canada. And from what I assume is that the majority of people replying to this thread are in the US. So if there are any Canadians experience this issue in the east side of Canada, it would be greatly appreciated if they'd speak up!

Do you know of a way that I would be able to see if there was an issue reported for a certain region? A website or something?

I thought I was crazy because I noticed this same behavior.

My nexus 6 is a LOT faster to d/l and install apps from Google play than my nexus 6p. Not 20 mins per app difference, but but noticeably different.

At first I chalked it up to just being overly paranoid with my new device. But now I'm not so sure.

Comcast Cable 105/20 speeds (more like 120/25)
Modem is DPC3941T
Router is a netgear r7000
Both are connected to the 5ghz band, and within 20 feet of it usually. Though I have been on 2.4 as well.

Are both phones running 6.0 now?

The one I use on a regular basis is, the Nexus 6P.

Hmmm could be a marshmellow thing for some people too. It's not happening at my end but who knows, there may be some issues with 6.0 depending on region perhaps. I don't really know how the guts of Play Services are set up, just throwing ideas out there. If it was purely marshmellow or purely the 6p, then we'd all be seeing this, but that's not the case

Both of mine are running 6.0. In fact I had my 6p for weeks before activating on sprint. I needed to make sure I had it set up the way I liked first. Lolol, I'm ocd like that.

OK so weird thing happened today. Seems as if the Google Play store is working now. I don't know, I have little faith that this will continue to work. But I pulled out my Note 5 to do some testing and decided to try and update the apps, and behold its working. So this tells me a couple things, 1) this cannot be a Google Play issue as the devices are connected to the same account. 2) has to be a marshmallow issue as the Note 5 is running the latest version of lollipop and my Nexus 6P is running 6.0 on the dot.

I'm so tempted to go back to the Note 5 because it works, but I really want to stay with the Nexus!

I think it's a Huawei issue. I notice that GP, YouTube and other downloads/uploads on the 6p are similarly slow as other phones I've had like the Droid Razr Maxx, LG G Vista, and Sony Z3v. The Moto X 2014 that I gave my brother actually had super-quick speeds, but I hated the battery life and it would get hot.

As in life, everything isn't perfect and there are always tradeoffs. I will say that I am enjoying the 6p more and more. It's less than a week old and it's becoming my favorite phone so far!

Well I guess I'll have to wait until 6.1 comes out. This is the most confusing issue I have ever experienced with any device. I really really love the Nexus 6P and prefer to continue to use it but these random issues are pushing me back to the Note 5. It's a bummer.

I have some disappointments with my 32 GB Nexus 6p but overall, it is worth the $500! I was on the fence with it, MXPE and LG V10. The quicker software updates and fingerprint scanner helped make my choice easier lol.

I have UDP with "Big Head Red" and long story short... I will never buy a carrier phone again!

OK guys let me confirm to you, this is not a nexus 6p or a marshmallow problem. I have this problem for all my devices. I have galaxy 's6, galaxy s6edge and nexus. Everything is fast for Internet but anything related to Google servers like Play store and even streaming play movies, it's very slow. It's a issue with your isp I believe.

Was this an issue with your ISP?
