Holidays are coming up , and I just wanna know as a IPhone 7 user currently , do you think the Nexus 6P is still worth a buy ?

Definitely a yes. The 6p has been deeply debated with several other flagship devices and for the price you can get on the 6p, it has all the same specs as most other flagships that are $300 to $400 more. It's by far the best valued phone for the money in reflection of flagship specs on the market. Sadly the Pixel ended the ability for us to purchase a flagship device at a really good value. The 6p I believe will be the last of its breed so most definitely it's worth investing in. The phone is top notch in every category on paper and real world at half the cost.

I'd get a 6p if it is under $400. If not, go for the longest battery with the Moto Z Play for $450 at Motorola or $408 from Verizon.

Having owned both the moto Z Force and 6p, I can tell you there isn't really much difference between the two devices other than the obvious Moto mods and the over $700 price of the Z Force. Performance real world pretty much identical with both. Both stock android so both identical there too. I would think you would see a small performance difference between the 6p and Z Play though. Even real world. Just a matter of if you want the mods and a tad or just slightly slower device. I'm unsure of resolution on the Z Play but I think its only 1080p compared to the top of the line 6p resolution which was identical to my Z Force. My thoughts are that the 6p is a superior device compared to the moto play and is better compared to the moto Z or Force. I'm sure the play is great but it'll be more about if you want the mods are not if you go Z Play over the 6p. If you get a moto, go for the regular Z if you want a very similar device to the 6p but sadly you loose the bang for your buck too.

Id go for the OnePlus 3T at this point if it'll work with your carrier. It should be almost the same price as the 6P but with more than twice the performance.

It is a fantastic phone and I'm considering getting another one for a family member, but the fact that Google won't be supporting it past September 2017 is making me hesitate. We tend to keep our phones at least two years.

I also really thought that the price of a new one would have dropped more by now. I bought a brand new 64 GB 6P for one of our kids this past July from Newegg for $403 total. I guess the high price of the Pixel is helping to keep the price of the 6P from dropping.

Security patches will be released through 2018. But no OS upgrade (Android P, whatever that ends up being).

Yup, it's still worth getting. I've had mine since the end of August / beginning of September and can recommend it over the iPhone easily.

Keeping it for 2 years shouldn't be a issue, provided you take good care of it, but you probably won't since there should be several good new phones available in 18 months that will interest you.

I can say that this phone is awesome, exceptionally fast, and has a excellent camera on it and best of all it is easily updated to do even more.. If you are interested in doing this, so it still is a good buy IMHO. The Beta program is pretty easy to enroll in and 7.1.1 is pretty sweet and stable to use as a DD.
