Hey guys I recently updated my tablet to lollipop and it has become really slow and lags. Please help.

Which Lollipop version? Was it over-the-air, or did you install it manually?

Is better than it was before but the lag is still there never had this issue on kit Kat. Also, the lag is noticeable when I try turning on the display and when I try to open apps.

It's hard for me to comment based on direct experience, since my 2012 N7 got lost a year ago.:'( You might consider re-flashing the firmware manually, in case there was a problem with the OTA installation: How to manually update your Nexus | Android Central. Find the firmware here: https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images

It's basically in those links in my last post. Use the directions in the first article about manually updating your Nexus device, and use the 4.4.4 KitKat factory image downloaded from the second link.
