Has anyone else had an issue with folders where the folder contents and border stay transparent after you open them? I have attached an image of what I'm talking about. The icons still work in this state with no issue other than the transparency. It seems to be a completely random occurrence too, but I have yet to find a folder on my system that is immune to it. I have atepted to delete and recreate folders. I have also tried to create new folders from scratch and all will get this every once in a while.

Re: Strange Folder issue since 4.4

What launcher are your using? It could help people see if they are seeing the same thing.

Sent from my Nexus 7 using AC Forums mobile app

Same problem. If you touch somewhere else and then select the folder again it looks normal. Still quite annoying.

Yes, it is quite annoying and it seems to be happening more often for me now. I have found that you can still select the icons in the folder even though they are hard to see.

I have the same problem as well. Is this a general 4.4 issue or a device issue?

Re: Having issues with folder transparency after 4.4 update.

I have a stock n7 2013 running 4.4.2 and have no folder transparency issues at all. Come to think of it I have no functionality issues at all. Gps and everything works great. My only gripe is a little light bleed at the top of the screen that makes the notification bar a little lighter black in that area.

That would be at the top of the screen while in Landscape mode?

Top when in portrait mode. Same spot as everybody else on the thread on this topic over at xda forums. It seems the vast majority have a little bleed in this area.

I have exactly the same problem with my Motorola Moto G, KitKat 4.4.2

Any news?

So i gather that no one actually found the fix to this problem with the stock launcher. I'm running a moto x with 4.4 and i get this problem randomly. From the looks, its not just moto that get this problem and 4.4.2 doesn't seem to fix this issue as well. Anyone else have any ideas beside switching launchers...

I've looked all around, but have not seen any solution for this bug. It does not seem to affect that many users, but it is mentioned by a couple of people on Reddit and there's one bug report on Google with a couple of stars on it. It seems to be affecting a number of devices and ROMs and actually is not limited to the stock launcher. Maybe it'll be fixed in 4.4.3, but I wouldn't count on it.

Nexus 5 -- now on 4.4.4 -- rooted stock firmware with stock Google Now Launcher. I'm having this exact problem. I don't recall having it before I wiped my phone and restored all apps and data (via Titanium) a month or so ago. It does still exist with 4.4.4. I'm not sure if some app I've installed is creating the problem or if we're looking at an odd bug with an obscure trigger. If anyone discovers a solution, please pass it on. This happens about 1 out of 5 times that I open a folder on the launcher, and since all of my apps are categorized in folders, this works out to 1 in 5 times that I go to launch an app.

Go to Settings - apps - all apps - Trebuchet (or what ever launcher is giving you the problem) and clear data. you will have to redo the folders but this solved the problem for me. I triggered this issue by lowering the window animation from 1.0 to 0.5. Working on a samsung S4
:)

Has this issue been resolved?
For me, it started on my Nexus 10 after the Android 4.4 Kitkat OTA update. Even after installing the Android 5.0.1 Lollipop OTA update, it is still happening randomly. I'm using stock launcher. Please help.
