Hi,
I have replaced my Nexus 7 screen after the original cracked from being dropped and have also replaced the lcd cable, however I get no picture when I turn it on. The screen backlights are on and the nexus is otherwise working as I can connect it to my PC and access everything, I just can't see anything on the screen. This is the second screen I have replaced with this unit as the first did the same thing so I returned it as I thought it was faulty. Any advice is appreciated. Could it be that the graphics chip is dead?
I also noticed that with the replacement cable the copper strips are different to the original. The original does not have a full compliment of the vertical strips which make contact on the lcd panel however the new cable has a full compliment copper strips.
Thanks in advance,
Darren.

I can't say I know anything about the "innards" of our devices, but did you perhaps try the new screen with your old cable (if that's even possible)?

Hi, yeah I did try the old cable, but I get no picture at all with that, which is why I replaced it.
Thanks for responding,
Darren.
