Talked to another friend of mine who bought a C70 and he said his was perfect, nothing wrong with it. It only had some serious screen rise and flicker and the sound sometimes would crackle in the headphone. But pristine build though he said!

Still would gladly bet all of the comments with perfect ones are subconsciously choosing to overlook the flaws. 21 might be nitpicking but I'd do that any day rather than settle for poor quality.

Yes, all the the reviewers who are experts in the field who handle hundred of devices a year, who have no skin in the game and all the people with perfect devices must all be lying. IT'S A CONSPIRACY! It couldn't just be that you're buying all your devices from the same bad local shipment. That would be impossible.

If I look at the serial number in Status mine does not even start with a letter. How/where are you reading C60 C70 etc? Is that not the number I am looking at? My device has zero issues BTW.

On the box there's a white sticker with a bunch of gobblygook. On there should be an SSN. That's where you get C60, C70, etc.

The number displayed in the status screen is the same as the CSSN on the tag. It is 16 hex digits. Maybe the near field id? Pure guess.

No screen rise on my device. I can take some very detailed pictures if you want. I'm not going to drive to NY since I live in Seattle.

Where in Seattle did you get yours? I'd love to find one without screen rise. (I stopped looking after the 2nd one, and have been waiting for better built batches to come out)

The screen lift can be easily fixed according to android authority. It's caused by loose screws. Remove the back and tighten the loose screws. This does not void your warranty.

Actually, all the reports I've seen state that the lift comes back after a few hours for most devices. And I don't have any desire to take apart a device that I'm going to have to return if the fix doesn't work.

I'm not in a rush. I can wait until Asus gets it right. But if there's a chance I can get one put together properly AND soon, I'll take it.

Yeah, apparently the adhesive they applied to the screws melted when the first shipments sat too long in the sun. Mine's great, but I would suggest others wait.
