Nexus 7 WiFi vs LTE

I am considering a Nexus 7 (2013) LTE model and have one question: When a WiFi network is available, will the tablet automatically use the WiFi network in preference to the LTE connection (assuming proper credentials for the WiFi network have been set)? To put it another way, will the tablet use my home wifi connection rather than the LTE connection when I am at home, thus controlling how much LTE data capacity I need?

Nice, but I don't have a smartphone, so not sure how they work in this situation either!

Yes, Android always prioritizes the wifi connection for data.

Like patruns said, if you're around a WiFi connection and you allow it to connect, the device will use the WiFi. But once out of range of WiFi the device will switch to the mobile data (LTE, 3G, etc.).
