Nexus one and Multi-touch

I would like someone to show me the patent Apple has on mulitouch. Anyone here play with Eris? If so I'm sure you noticed the multitouch. So if there was some patent protecting apple why would HTC/google release a phone with multitouch. The whole patent thing IMO is BS

The Droid in Europe has multi touch, but over there it's call the Milestone.

It's Apple trying to play bully. I never understood why so many Apple fans feel that they are pro Apple because they hate Microsoft being such a bad evil company when Apple does way more to actually stop technological advancements.

I have a feeling we'll see an Android OS update in the next few months that will show Google has some balls, but we have to wait until they have more carriers, phones, and more pull in the cell phone industry for Apple to think twice about challenging them and risk losing.

AT&T is releasing 5 Android phones in the next 6 months. That's HUGE.
They won't rely on only Apple. Apple will have less muscle pushing their one version handset to different carriers.
The Open Handset Alliance is something incredible from a business standpoint. It boggles my mind to think how things will be in 1 or 2 years.

I agree with this post 100%

I would like some solid answers to this as well. I'm sure it must have something to do with a US Patent Apple has, or something of that nature. If Google just wanted to play nice with Apple by excluding multitouch, they would do it overseas as well, where Android Phones are sold and so are iPhones. I remember reading about the "impending" legal battle between Palm and Apple because of multitouch on the Palm Pre, but that dissipated because Palm has so many patents that it could call Apple on. The same thing is happening right now with Nokia suing Apple.

I would like some clear answers from someone about this. I watched the Engadget interview with the Director of Android, and he just danced his way around the question. Someone should just tell us consumers why it is that we're lacking a feature in these high end smartphones that is becoming so common place.

I do not know why people only talk about web browser and map when it comes to multi-touch. I only think Apple iPhone's virtual keyboard is still a lot better simply multi-touch is enabled and so much faster to type on those.

Come'on Google! Bring multi-touch to all andriod phones!!!
