Well I needed a catchy subject line to hook you guys in but heres the question my fellow Nexus ESSAYS! LOL j/k. I know that was dorky but whatever!

Will ICS work on the Nexus S? I know we've been told we'll receive the next big update and the N1 won't. But how will that work being that ICS doesn't use any buttons.

Please don't hesitate to remark with insight or questions or just opinions. I'd love to hear them all.

Thanks in advance my friends.

Best regards,
Tula

Re: Nexus S vs Nexus Prime & ICS

I am positive the Nexus S and possibly the Nexus One will both get the ICS update. The Nexus S will keep the soft buttons and I think just not have any onscreen buttons. This is what I think.

Do you think we'll see the update this year or will this be something that will be release at some point in 2012? I know this is the 1st major OS release since the NS came out and we'd be getting it, I'm just wondering when.

Also, is the Nexus Prime aka Galaxy Nexus going to be a GSM AT&T/T-Mobile phone or just Verizon?

It makes no sense that Google would drop a phone that seriously cuts the competition in down on only one carrier that over charges for all their fee's.

My opinion and thoughts is that it will be a GSM phone and also have a CDMA version and I think they'll drop on the same date because Google/Samsung have something to prove to the smartphone world. The iPhone isn't the phone to beat anymore. The Nexus' are!!

It most definitely will, I think there has been some videos with the Nexus S running ICS. For sure it will, I think even the Nexus One can even get it.

Rumor is any phone able to run GB will most likely get the ICS update. NS will definitely get the update, and the N1 as well. My guess would be that the N1 version of the software will have some minor features cut (the phone is almost two years old). NS should get the update soon after the prime is released. or shoot, why not get the update the day of the announcement?? only one can hope lol

Maybe some devs will be able to get the sdk of ics to work on the nexus s before the official release.. im searching every day for some way to get nearer to ics on my mobile! :D themes and everything is downloaded straight after i find them! ;D

Above is the 3G ICS Ported SDK. I got version 8 to work perfect, just a few bug and some items missing. I noticed today they had a version 9 that says it has a lot more added to it but when I rolled back to 2.3.6 and tried to install it keeps saying aborted. Now I'm pissed because I had ICS working perfect and because of greed I lost it all. Can anyone help me? Do I need version 9 to move onto version 9? Please let me know.

Re: ICS upgrade for Nexus S

There are couple of ports from the SDK for the Nexus S, unknown for the Nexus S 4G port

Re: ICS upgrade for Nexus S

I rooted my Nexus S for T-Mo and I got ICS to work for a day and I wanted to update to the newer version of ICS that was released. I went to do so but instead it completely deleted ICS from my NS and now, no matter how hard I try or how many different ways I try, I can't get it back. I just want to get ICS working on my Nexus S. I've tried everything from wiping the device and reinstalling to even purchasing a ClockworkMod app that allows me to upload ROMs without having to reboot but it keeps saying ABORTED. SOMEONE HELP.

I just read an article from engaged that nexus s will have ICS upgrade.

Sorry for my bad english
