Nexus S Ram?

I thought the Nexus S comes with 512MB of ram

When I go under Manage Applications > Running, it says I used 125MB and I have 159 free. So total is 284?

512 total, 346 available. The numbers you are seeing depend on what's running on your phone currently, what programs are in the background, etc.

I was just confused. Because in windows, I have 2x4GB sticks of ram. So in my task manager, I see I have 8 GB. But I assumed since the spec of my phone said 512MB ram, I would have 512MB. I was just surprised I had ~ half of the specified ram in the Running Applications page.

Don't quote me on this, but I believe that from the 512, the 346 mb is set aside for apps, the remaining for the os.
