NFC/Google pay wont work Samsung galaxy s8

[Android Central Question]

I used to have a samsung galaxy s7 with a hard case on the phone and Google pay worked fine for making contactless payments. I since updated to a samsung galaxy s8, and now Google pay will only work if I take the case off. It's a standard plastic phone case so I don't understand why it won't work?

Case must be interfering at the 'right' (or wrong) spot. S7 and S8 have the emitter in different places, so a case that worked before might not work now. Did you read reviews on that case? Did other users have issues with NFC? Most regular cases shouldn't interfere (especially if plastic). Do you have issues with Wireless Charging?
