Long story short fiance like my DNA so much that she got one herself. Was messing around with the phones this weekend and found something new We each have out of milk app on our phone. We were sinking lists through gmail for our shopping. I decided to turn both NFC chips on the phones and wah lah. Touched both phones together tapped the screen and my list synced to her phone. just thought that was cool. Yes I know I am a dork. My fiance says so. But she is marring me what does that make her

My wife and I both use color note. Now I have to see if we can use nfc to transfer lists. Thanks for the idea. Fellow tech dork

Quick question regarding NFC... If I have NFC on and my screen is off cause it's, say, in my pocket, would I still be able to tap an NFC tag without waking the screen? Or would I have to turn the screen on before trying to use the tag?

What I found yesterday is that you need the screen on and the app that you are trying to bump open on in both phones(at least with out of milk). When I tried to transfer lists last night it wouldn't work unless I had both apps open. I am going to try with pictures and video tonight. That way I will hopfuly save on texts sending my fiance about every picture I take to her.

I don't think you can use NFC tags while your screen is locked. I think there would be a huge security issue if malicious people could control your phone with NFC tags, even though your phone is locked.

***Edit: Just wanted to add that there are certain custom APKs that allow you to use NFC when the screen is locked, but as mentioned due to security, I would be surprised if manufacturer allowed this on the stock ROM.
