NHL help needed...

So I have a GameCenter subscription from the US. I'm currently in Canada and the new NHL app won't let me log into my account. Apparently the conglomerate Roger's has taken over hockey in Canada and won't allow it.

Do I possibly need the USA version of the NHL app?

It's IP based. As long as you have a Canadian IP, defaults to Rodgers accounts.
