No Beats Audio On New HTC Flagship

Without the enhancement the dual speakers sound just like any other phone speakers. With Beats or other sound mods it's no contest compared to other phones.

You know that Beats is just an EQ setting, right? It isn't some mystical audio processing. It isn't even a particularly good EQ setting for most music.

It can easily be replicated. When Beats goes away HTC could use the same speakers and put "HTC Boom Sound Audio Magic" in there and it would sound as good as Beats. Which is to say I'd still want to use my own EQ settings.

Exactly. I can reproduce the effect with a free EQ in the play store. I'm not saying that the ONE is terrible cause it's not. It's down right awesome...and so is it's sound/speakers so they don't need "Dr. Dre..adlocks" and his overpriced "beats" to compete.

Boomsound involves amazing quality stereo speakers, which NO other device has, I don't care about Beats

All of the speakers on a mobile Samsung device are just extremely terrible, I wouldn't be surprised if they bought out Beats to use in there phones instead.

Meh, Bose is to speakers what Beats is to audio processing. It's really just a name, Bose speakers aren't highly regarded.

The speakers on the One are fantastic, no need to mess with those. Give users a few EQ presets and free control for those who want it and call it a day. No need to pay for a silly Beats logo when there's no value to the consumer.

Putting BOSE in a phone would make the subsidized price go from $199 to $299 just because of the name. Besides, I don't think their patented "wave" system would work very well in a smartphone.

I regard Bose and Beats about equally. Have you ever noticed that the manufacturers with the highest quality sound reproduction don't have ads on cable TV? There's a reason for that, they don't need to.

I guess Beats has bought back all of its shares from HTC. Beats also bought MOG for a bargain price of 16 million. They also ended the manufacturing agreement with Monster about a year ago. I really think someone at Beats is a marketing genius.

I don't think Bose would go with HTC HTC just needs to manufacture less phones look at apple all they did was 1 phone every year HTC one is a great phone ok the mini max are a good thought all they need is to promote the HTC more tv ads bill boards etc I would be happy if HTC bought beats Audio back.....

It depends on whether or not there were patent infringements or not. This was the case with Samsung, I'm not sure if HTC could patent front facing speakers as they've existed on other (non-phone) devices for decades.

It's the fact that people who don't know anything about music will see the Beats or Bose logo and think "Oh, this is better than everything else." They know people will overhype their stuff so they don't bother with ads.
