No Beats Audio On New HTC Flagship

which smartphone has a better sound quality than the htc one?

It's not better but the Moto X is pretty close. It has the best sounding single speaker on the market and coupled with the built in EQ, it sounds pretty darn good.....and LOUD!

Like everyone has been saying (in their own words), Beats Audio is nothing but a marketing ploy that provides no advantage you could do without it. There are many apps to run an equalizer for your music, and most music players have EQ settings. That's all it is. Dr. Dre is a true genius for finding a way to sell some of the worst headphones (Beats) for a ridiculously high price tag, but for some reason or another... people are uneducated enough to buy the worthless pieces of plastic. Beats audio integrated into phones is nothing but an equalizer (EQ), which most music players offers and there's apps available on Google Play if not, and the headphones are a joke. I would recommend you buy a high-end pair of earbuds/headphones for your HTC One.

Stay informed. Don't be duped.

Beats Audio on the phone is just a loudness button within bit better algorithm. The headphones are a completely different animal. I have it turned off all the time especially when I'm streaming Bluetooth in my car music streamed from Google play hidef sounds much better without it.

I agree with most everything that's been said about Beats. It is in fact just a 'proprietary' EQ setting and as long as HTC doesn't change the hardware, you will be able to replicate the Beats sound with a decent EQ software.

However, I will disagree slightly with the above. I'm a fairly audiophile guy (My nicest headphones are a pair of Sennheiser HD650's). I was good and ready to laugh about the whole Dr. Dre Beats thing. It seemed like the worst type of gimmick to me.

Then the teenage son of a buddy of mine wandered through my house one day with a pair of them on. These weren't the super-expensive ones - I think he said they were $150? I asked him if I could check them out. I'll say that I've heard lots of cans at a comparable price range that sound worse. Yes, they're a bit artificially EQ'd in the smiley-face way but generally speaking the soundstage was okay on the pair I heard, and what I liked about them was they way the one piece metal headband made the cups fit on my ears.

So anyhow... I was ready to be a Beats hater and even though there are better cans for the money and it is in fact a marketing gimmick, I wasn't quite as disgusted as I thought I'd be.

My $0.02

I heard that HTC will buy beats back when they launch the new M8

Maybe HTC will buy stock in PUNCH audio..

Then they can call the successor to the ONE the.......ONE TWO PUNCH :)

Hi I'm really gutted and sad about beats pulling out and ending the contract with HTC why would they not let HTC carry on I wish and pray HTC carry on selling amazing phones and bring out there own BoomSound hardware the HTC one is the best phone in the world,if only people gave the HTC one a chance and proove that it's a amazing superphone too many samsung and apple brain washed people out there any way all the best but beats went with HTC to make a solid music device.......

What "flagship" HTC device are you referring to? The Beats president confirmed that Beats audio will be included in the upcoming HTC Max (google it). You making assumptions or do you have confirmed information none of us are aware of?
