No "drag" required to unlock?

OK so I don't use a true "lock" on my lock screen (no pin or pattern) but even so every other phone I've ever had makes you "drag" something around to unlock the phone. My One doesn't do that - after you hit the power button, if you just touch anywhere on the screen it goes to the home screen (unless you tap one of the dock icons, then it launches whatever that is).

Isn't it supposed to make you drag the lock up or drag an icon out of the dock? The way it's working now it might as well not even be there! If there's a setting for this somewhere please let me know; I tried adding a pin and then removing it but it has the same result.

Thanks!

Also, when the music controls are displayed on the lock screen, if you press pause or one of the other controls, it executes the command but also unlocks the phone and launches the music/podcast app in question . Ugh. On my Nexus 4 the phone stays locked if I pause what I'm listening to from the lock screen.

Please let me know what I'm missing here! :)

mine says pull up to unlock when you touch the clock/weather on all the lock screen options

I use mine without any sort of lock screen. As soon as I hit power it goes straight into fully functional phone. no dragging. So yes it is possible that your phone is doing that. But at the same time to me it sounds like its taking you to the lockscreen, you just can unlock it very easily?

my setup is: Settings> personalize> Lock screen style = No lock screen & then also Settings> Security> Screen Lock= None

Right, it's like it "unlocks" very easily. I have the lock style set to wallpaper and it shows the lock screen, it just doesn't say "pull up to unlock", that's gone. I want it back! :)

Might I ask, how did you get GoSMS in the dock on the lock screen? I can't seem to change anything on my lock screen.

You have to go into apps to make changes to the menu bar. It can not be done from the home screens.

I have exactly the same problem. As a convert from iPhone but someone who has used Windows Phone 8 & other android phones I'm at a loss why a drag to unlock doesn't work.
I only have to touch the screen for it to unlock. I don't have to drag the time /weather up nor drag the padlock up.
This is really disappointing. I don't want a two step unlock ie. Pattern or face
SO.. is this a bug or my naivety?
Can we escalate this to HTC in any way?

Your dock is same on the lockscreen as it is on all pages when the phone is unlocked. To change these apps, open the app drawer and drag the app to the dock. This is the only place you can do this.

Dunno about that. In the few minutes that I handled the HTC One for yesterday, tapping the screen did nothing except show a message 'Drag to unlock' or something similar. I had to actually swipe the screen or drag an icon to be able to unlock the device. Maybe I just got lucky in the few minutes that I played with the phone.

I could swear that I had the slide when I first got this phone and they it went away somehow in the last few days.

Open your app drawer first then drag-n-drop items directly from main app drawer...if you try to edit the dock from the home screen it will just create a shortcut on the homescreen

Really @evernap? So that could suggest that those of us with this issue have installed or set something that is bypassing the drag.
I can get that "drag to unlock" message but only if I drag & then replace the padlock.
This is very curious.
I'd love an answer to this.

Yeah. I'll check again later today, after work, but yeah, I clearly remember seeing the 'drag to unlock' or similar message on the screen when I tapped it. FYI, the phone's brand new (it still has the front and back protectors on), and I haven't installed anything on it.

Hmm.. Very curious. If you could have a look & let us know I'd really appreciate it.I'm lost as to what it could be.
Thanks again
