No "drag" required to unlock?

I have also encountered this same issue with both the AT&T HTC One and the Developer Edition of the phone. I've actually notified 2 different HTC contacts that have been participating in a discussion about the HTC One on Reddit. You can find the discussion here: Hello from HTC : Android

EDIT: (If you search for my handle, "DisconnectedChild", that will take you to the relevant posts in the Reddit thread).

One of them already got some of the HTC engineers to reply to this issue but it's still ongoing because they didn't seem to try using any third party apps that have an accessibility component, like the Pebble app or Light Flow. Hopefully they'll continue to follow up on this and issue an update to fix it.

Yeah, it is definitely the Pebble app for me. Once accessibility is turned on, the screen becomes single touch for shortcuts and otherwise. I really hope they fix this issue, because I like the drag to unlock and I obviously want to continue using my Pebble.

On further investigation with other notify apps or seems that any Accessibility service when switched on will cause the lockscreen to unlock with just a tap.

There may be something in the code of these apps that keep the lockscreen awake & only partially locked so notifications can come through.

It looks as if only htc can sorry this out

WOW! Thank you! I had a couple small lockscreen issues and your discovery lead me to turning off the accessibility setting for Tasker (don't need that part of the functionality) and it works exactly as it should now. I thought it was a minor bug, but this solves it! Thanks! Hopefully HTC will improve/fix the lock screen and will likely happen with the jump to 4.2.2 since that should offer lockscreen widgets.

Hi
This issue is a bug. Check accessibility settings. As soon as you let any application have the accessibility right the lock screen is broken.
It will unlock at a touch and answer incoming calls with the slightest touch.
Test it out, turn off the setting and see how the lock screen should work.

My pebble app is the one that gets me.

I've been trying to figure out what suddenly caused this for the last two nights. You are correct. As soon as I disabled the Accessibilty settings for "Missed Message Flasher", the problem was resolved. Now if I could only get "Knock2+" to actually do what its supposed to do, I would be completely content with my HTC One.

Thanks All

Did you ever figure out what caused the behavior? I've been seeing the same for a few days, and have no idea how to fix it!

[Sorry - hadn't seen the accessibility issue - I don't recall giving any app accessibility settings, but now I know what to look for!]

In my case, it was Desktop Notifications, which I'd turned on for an app. Now I guess I have to decide how much I want those notifications.

Thanks much to those who figured out the problem.

Thank you for posting. I was getting tired of the drag and lost numerous calls due to it. Also did my husbands phone. Thanks!!

FYI Brian Klug over at Anandtech has confirmed the 4.2.2 update for the non-Google Play HTC One's does correct this issue - now if we can just get that release for our US phones!
