No flash got you down? Try this fix

What order did you install Flash and FF in? Flash before FF? Or FF before Flash? Supposedly that can determine if Flash doesn't work properly.

I definitely installed flash before firefox when I did it.

Also if you are having trouble getting the flash to work, try installing a previous build before "updating" to a recent one on top of it. I had to do that when I did this a second time to make sure it wasn't a fluke.

So if it isn't working, try uninstalling the flash players and firefox, then install an older flash and then install over (or update) to the newer flash before installing firefox.

here's the older flash .apk I used (Adobe Flash Player_1) and the newer I installed over it (Adobe Flash Player_2) that I conveniently numbered in the order I used them in.

Edit:if this fixes your problem then I'll update the OP.

Worked perfectly on my nexus running jellybean! Thanks!!

Just wanted to say thanks... this is probably my first time posting. Used the information here to get flash working on my tablet. Special thanks to Sock Monkey Pete

Followed post 22 and everything worked first time on Nexus 7. Thanks Sock Monkey Pete.

You guys are welcome and you might enjoy that I updated my original post to help others more.

I literally shattered my foot last year, and I had to get some more surgery recently so I'm stuck in bed with my foot in the air. In so many words, I'm available to help if anyone needs it.

Thank you for this. I can't view ESPN the magazine digital edition but at least I can watch videos.

Thanks for the info! I'm about to try it right now on my N7 and was wondering, do you know if Dolphin HD can be used instead of FireFox?

Worked fine for me using Dophin HD.

Just installed this fix, thanks OP!

Update 7/17/2012: So I found that when replicating this, I was having trouble getting it to work. So I tinkered and found that installing an older flash first, updating to the new one, and then installing firefox was the ticket. Updated the post to include a better step-by-step and .apk links for flash and firefox

Adobe Flash Player_1.apk http://forums.androidcentral.com/attachments/google-nexus-7-tablet-forum/31188d1342493476-no-flash-got-you-down-try-fix-adobe-flash-player_1.apk
Adobe Flash Player_2.apk http://forums.androidcentral.com/attachments/google-nexus-7-tablet-forum/31189d1342493476-no-flash-got-you-down-try-fix-adobe-flash-player_2.apk

When I tried downloading those .apks via chrome's "save link as" and try to install them via ES File Manager, I get a "Parse Error - There was a problem parsing the package" error.

Any ideas?

What versions of Flash ate you linking for your Adobe Flash Player_1.apk & Adobe Flash Player_2.apk?

I can copy over a Flash 11.1 (11.1.115.12) apk from my phone (Nexus / ICS) - but it sounds like I would also need an older version too.

Try just clicking on the links, they should be a direct download. (It's actually a link to the .apk's on post #22)

The newer flash is the same as yours where as the older one is Adobe Flash Player 11.1 (11.1.115.008)

Thanks for this thread! I've got flash working on aurora no problem. It's a great secondary browser when needed. Thanks again!

Anyone try hbo go or epix in aurora? I could not get hbo go to stop detecting it as a mobile device. However, I managed to get hbo go working (it's glitchy) on dolphin.
