When I tried to download the Wallet app, Google Play told me that the application is not compatible with this device. I just purchased it today, 4/29/13.
I don't understand why it does not work on the Dev edition phone. I thought the whole point of getting the DE is that I won't be subject to carrier restrictions. But play store says Wallet is not compatible on my DE One. I don't understand why google will block it for the DE phones. Could it be the phone looks no different to play store from an AT&T one?
The only way things like this will change is if the FTC and FCC get enough complaints about it. Verizon got nailed albeit a small fine but they did get hit over blocking the tethering apps on the Play Store. This is just another way for them to block Google Wallet while they try and try again to get ISIS to work. What 2 cities and its still not out of the crib yet.G Wallet does not work. I have not heard anyone talk about this here. Any workarounds or is it kaput?
I got Google Wallet to install on my AT&T HTC One Dev unit - finally! It's in the "Setting up Wallet" stage. Hopefully this works.
I actually borrowed some steps from another thread (I remembered it worked on my Galaxy S3)
Google wallet fix for SGS3 US variants AT&T, T-MOBILE, US Cellular, VERIZON, etc - xda-developers
The only thing you do differently is DON'T download the files in step 4. Just download the file previously mentioned in that thread at this link:
http://dl.xda-developers.com/attach...5193d6fc/1/6/8/4/3/0/8/Wallet_1.6-R96-v13.apk
Be sure to do the last 2 steps, deleting the changed build.prop and change the *.bak to build.prop again.
Which Google Wallet a apk did you download?
Can anyone confirm that changing the build prop will allow it to work?
It's been working on Sprint for a while. Please don't get us GSM users hopes up with random "it works posts" that's just mean.
