No Google Wallet?

When I tried to download the Wallet app, Google Play told me that the application is not compatible with this device. I just purchased it today, 4/29/13.

You will need to side load the app. I have now setup mine and my wife's wallet and used it to pay with no issues. The link to the file can be found in an earlier post.

I don't understand why it does not work on the Dev edition phone. I thought the whole point of getting the DE is that I won't be subject to carrier restrictions. But play store says Wallet is not compatible on my DE One. I don't understand why google will block it for the DE phones. Could it be the phone looks no different to play store from an AT&T one?

Its not the carrier that is showing it no compatible it's Google. It show not compatible for all carriers right now. But if you have Sprint and you side load it it does work. I have not seen it work on AT&T or T-Mobile as of yet.

G Wallet does not work. I have not heard anyone talk about this here. Any workarounds or is it kaput?
The only way things like this will change is if the FTC and FCC get enough complaints about it. Verizon got nailed albeit a small fine but they did get hit over blocking the tethering apps on the Play Store. This is just another way for them to block Google Wallet while they try and try again to get ISIS to work. What 2 cities and its still not out of the crib yet.

I got Google Wallet to install on my AT&T HTC One Dev unit - finally! It's in the "Setting up Wallet" stage. Hopefully this works.

I actually borrowed some steps from another thread (I remembered it worked on my Galaxy S3)
Google wallet fix for SGS3 US variants AT&T, T-MOBILE, US Cellular, VERIZON, etc - xda-developers

The only thing you do differently is DON'T download the files in step 4. Just download the file previously mentioned in that thread at this link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1684308&d=1359399708

Be sure to do the last 2 steps, deleting the changed build.prop and change the *.bak to build.prop again.

===Edited to correct second link===

Your second link is no good.

Which Google Wallet a apk did you download?

This was from page 3, reply #63 from thebizz.
Update - It appears that the phone is still trying to get through setup. It's been about 10 minutes so far.
thebizz stated the apk he used didn't have the check logic in it, but it wouldn't work for me until I changed the data in build.prop with Root Explorer. Now I'm just hoping to get it set up on my One.

Can anyone confirm that changing the build prop will allow it to work?

It allowed me to install and open the app. I'm stuck at the setup splash screen right now. Not sure if I'll get past that. I don't understand the code behind the apk, but hopefully someone can dig into it and see what's preventing the AT&T/Dev model from working.

I wonder if using the MoDaCo toolkit NOW would help since you can disable the checks it does..You got alot farther then I ever did when I first got the phone and tried to do wallet.

Thanks for the vote of confidence. I'm not sure if I've made much ground but I'm happy to keep digging. Where can I find the MoDaCo toolkit?

EDIT: I found the toolkit and am continuing my efforts. Thanks for the heads up!

Google wallet works now on the ONE

Sent from my HTCONE using Android Central Forums

I can confirm it too. I just loaded the app, credit cards and bank acct. App downloaded without any issue. Seems fine now!

I have the DE HTC One with AT&T sim. I still can't get Wallet to install; Google Play shows it as incompatible. :(

It's been working on Sprint for a while. Please don't get us GSM users hopes up with random "it works posts" that's just mean.

LOL I was thinking the same thing. I'm glad they've worked out your devices tho. Now if I can just get mine through the setup screen...
