no keypad on call screen an speaker comes on automatically

So both my fiance and myself got an s5 on release day. Mine was fine but hers had the above problem. She has never had an android phone before so may have mucked about with some settings. We just couldnt change it anywhere and couldnt find a post online.

Long story short. A factory reset worked. If anyone else has had this problem and knows a better way to fix it then please share?
