It's been quite a while that I've seen this problem. I don't remember when it started. I used to be able to save a URL (using Chrome) to my Home Page as a Shortcut. That option is still present in the Chrome drop down menu, and when I hit it, it says the URL was indeed saved. But it is nowhere to be found on any exisiting page (Home or otherwise).

I have tried this with the default launcher, and also with Nova, Apex and Lightning. It never works anymore. I am not using a custom ROM and the OS is fully updated. I power down the device every night, so needing a reset isn't the issue.

Have you already tried clearing cache and data for Chrome? Just remember that clearing data will delete all your personal info in Chrome that hasn't been saved/synced on your Google account.

Good idea. Just tried that, and even with the default launcher, it fails.

Strange. Which Android version do you have? Have you checked if Chrome has all the permissions enabled? Have you tried different browsers, like Opera?

I just tried Opera Mini, and this problem goes away when using it with the Nova, Apex and default launcher. But it is still present when using Lightning Launcher (my favorite by far). Looks like I'll be switching launchers. I have notified the latter launcher's developer. Thanks!
