Long time Sammy user (Notes 3, 4, 5), but I wanted a change and heard some good things about the V10, so I got one on Swappa....

Holy Cow! What a phone! Everything from the display, build, extra features, and yes the Camera!!

But all reviews and research I've read, give this phone no love. So my question or "rant" is why? Am I missing something here? Is it because it's LG? Curious on others thoughts.....

Regardless, the phone is awesome and I will be returning to Swappa, but to sell my note..haha

Yeap... Even the youtube reviews don't give it justice. IR blaster removable battery amd expandable storage future proofs this phone for years to come

Im a long time samsung user also. I bought a v10 because I wanted a phone with a micro SD card. But truthfully, I found the v10 just too big and bulky. Plus I couldn't get used to the power and volume buttons on the back. Even though it had swappable batteries, a phone that big should have had a huge battery (at least a 4000 mah) . Needless to say, when the galaxy S7 edge came out, I got one and there's no comparison. The edge is a 5.5 incher but doesn't feel it. The design is incredible. Its way faster than the v10, and has its micro SD card back. Plus, even though Sammy sealed the battery, they gave it a 3600 mah so you've got a full day plus. Don't forget, you've also got that super amoled screen which I missed from the v10. And don't forget the S7 is water and dust proof. Im not knocking the v10. I'm still using mine on my nightstand as an alarm clock. But its no comparison to the S7 or s7 edge.

I thought the back buttons would be hard to adjust to. Turned out not to be the case.

Me, I'm loving the LG experience vs the Samsung experience. LG has superb software--their calendar is better, their contacts list is better, their messaging app is better. And LG Bridge! Samsung can only dream of being that good. Kies is as useful as a rock on the side of the road by comparison.

sal, you're not missing anything. The V10 really is that good.

You actually use the LG calendar, messenger, and contacts? I switched to Google versions first thing. Wish they had a better contacts thing though

Yes. I tried others, and eventually found my way back to the stock apps. Didn't like the Google versions at all, and didn't like any of the other popular messaging apps people talk about here.

I do use the Google launcher, though.

I too came over from Samsung. I loved my Note 3 but was also one that was disappointed with the move to no SD card and non removable battery. I looked for a phone that had what I felt I needed and found the V10. I thought it was going to be too big and bulky, but have not found it so. If anything, it feels just a little light in my hands, but that is not a show stopper. I thought it was going to be hard to get used to the buttons on the back as well. I tried like mad to hate it within the 14 day window so I could take it back, but it really wasn't that hard. The more I wanted to find reasons to take it back, the more I just couldn't. I do not find it to be laggy as some have, in that respect I guess I am lucky. In fact I have no real complaints, the phone does what I need it to do...make calls and make daily life just a little easier with the apps I want/need. The V10 really does fit the bill for me. For those that it doesn't I truly hope you find the phone that "does it" for you. We all deserve to have the phone we want, and not be stuck with something we truly don't like/love. Good luck to everyone out there searching for "the One". May you find it and be blissfully happy once you do.

I am a simplistic user, calls, txt, and basic www browsing. These are my minimum requirements, and MUST haves.
>Reliability (which the V10 has proven to be)
>No unlocked phones
>Expandable SD card
>At least 64G of on board storage
>Replace-able battery
>No glass case back, I am just too clumsy.
>Verizon carrier (not that I like it... its more that in my area tower coverage is spotty and Verizon has been good)

So for my preferences the pickings are REALLY slim... I'd be stuck with a highly undesirable phone if it weren't for LG.

I came from a iPhone 4S because I wanted to try something different.

i like to keep my phone as long as possible and use it till it breaks. Thus, the V10 was a great choice right off the bat.

The V10 also fit my needs because...
-removable battery
-Micro SD card slot
-reliability (last Lg survived a cycle in the washer)
-decent camera (the V10 has a top notch camera)

The main factor why I feel that the V10 has gotten negitive attention is Lg's wise decision to go with the Snapdragon 808 instead of thr 810.

Supposidly during the development ot the V10's, the Snapdragon 810 processor caused consistsnt overheating issues. Thus, LG felt that it was better to hold off on putting the 810 in the V10 to maximize it's efficency.

Google's Contacts app is only for Nexus devices (at least through the play store). Did you side load the apk for contacts?

I never thought about it this way, but I have had more LG phones over the decades than any other brand, 3 total. A flipper, Querty and this V10.
I too have never had any major problems with them.

Really? I'm pretty sure I am using Google contacts and calendar. Did not load any .apk to do it either. Unless I read your post wrong, in which case.....

Must not have waited for the Marshmallow update... Battery was never an issue for me, but it only got better with Marshmallow. I love my V10... Being older the big screen is better for me. The camera takes downright AWESOME pics, and the wide angle "Groupie" lens allowed me to get a shot of a complete rainbow over my head while the lady next to me was cussing her iPhone and trying Panorama mode to try and get the shot. Me happy camper...

I don't know, but I'm currently in love with mine! Had a Note 4 and then flirted with WP with a Lumia Icon. Got tired of waiting for Verizon to get a windows flagship, so after going back to the Note 4 for a while I went with the V10. Still love the concept of windows phone, but the V10 is one sweet phone.

Coming from an S5...I love my v10...no freeze ups, camera works when I want it too, not when it feels like it.
Awesome phone LG!

I came from the Note 5, before that the s6 Active, before that the G5 and before that the m8... So I've had some really great phones and all had various issues of one sort or another, but this v10 is simply the best day to day phone I've had in a long time.

Is it underrated.....? Of course it is. It's not a Samsung Galaxy or a Apple iPhone so it doesn't get the media attention they get and never will. It doesn't conform to the notion that to be great requires it to have a glass back... My phone is several months old and has never been in a protective case and looks brand new.. None of the others including the Active has been so good.

This phone has not slowed down and is loaded with more apps music and movies than all the rest and still does exceptionally well.

Folks always like to justify their purchases and I am no different.. But it is easier than ever with this phone and look forward to seeing if LG doesn't cave in and go with the flow on the 11 like they did with the g6 and loose their way..

Great explanation. I completely agree that this phone has gotten not much media attention. Personally, I feel that the V10 is like a "hidden gem" inside the cell phone market. Even in LG's lineup, the G4 and the G5 have and will continue to usher in more attention than the V10 (and probably it's successor).

When you think about it, the more popular road is not always the best one. it's perfectly ok to be different because, in our own way, we are unique! Would you rather live in a mass produced larger home where the contractors rushed and took shortcuts to finish the job or, for the same price in a home that is smaller but, built with perfection? Thus, even if the V10 is not too popular, in my heart, I know it's something that will always put a smile on my face!

I don't ever go by what everybody else seems to have. I always go by what suits me best.

I stumbled into this V10, and came to really like it.

What I really like is the LG software. I've had Samsung, will never buy another Samsung ANYTHING in my life, and don't really care about iPhone. I loved my Windows Phone 8.1; too bad they gave up on the concept, it's a great bit of potential that will forever go unrealized.

So, both hardware and software--especially software--makes me love LG and the V10.
