Smart Settings is trash anyway. I'm a former T-Mobile customer, had the G3 and G4, now a Verizon customer and I don't miss it.
Why do you think so? I am curious because I love it. When at work and my BT is connected the phone simply unlocks on a swipe versus needing pin or fingerprint. It also does the same thing when at home.
I quoted a guy talking about Smart Settings.Do you mean smart settings or smart lock?
Man, what's up with Verizon disabling stuff on this phone? Glad I have AT&T.
At&t disables crap all the time. Like download booster on the galaxy devices. From what I've noticed, T-Mobile doesn't disable very much if anything.
Yeah that's true but they don't seem quite as bad as Verizon. T-mobile isn't an option for me because the have totally lousy service in my area. At&t disables crap all the time. Like download booster on the galaxy devices. From what I've noticed, T-Mobile doesn't disable very much if anything.

Have you tested T-Mobile's service in your area LATELY?!
I come across so many ppl "shocked" at how well T-Mobile is NOW working in their area when compared to just a few months ago....Between their re-farming of their 1900 band,, building of new cell sites and Band 12 deployment, that company is on a mission!!

Oh! My bad... I thought it was about smart lock. Doh!.. I need to learn to read betterI quoted a guy talking about Smart Settings.
I've now got smart lock on for trusted places: my work, my studio, and my home... but it's not working at home.
I've looked at my saved Google "home" and it's got the right location. Still, it's making my unlock when I'm at home.
Any ideas?
EDIT: I just added a 4th trusted place of my current location (I'm at home) and it works fine. So the issue really is that Google couldn't pickup its own "home" location for me.. which is odd because navigation to home works perfectly.
I get that... but this was consistently not working with my "home"... I tried several times, and no go. Anyways, I've got I OK by adding in that extra trusted place. This can happen with Smart Lock sometimes since Google does random pings but doesn't watch you 24/7 via GPS (for obvious reasons). Usually when I get home and my phone jumps to my home WiFi it will ping me and know I am home. On occasion it doesn't so I just open something (like Google Maps) so it can ping my GPS and realize I am home. I look at it as just a small issue since I would rather that than Google keeping my GPS on 24/7 just for Smart Lock..

Hmmm... It looks like its got my "home" about 30 yards away from my actual house. Although it wouldn't let me change where to locate my address (I reported the mistake), I was able to give it a new home address that was closer. I'll try it out tonight to see if it improves smart lock.smart lock isn't always 100% accurate with a specific address. you may need to go into smart lock and add a trusted place by dropping a pin. try standing in the center of your home and adding the pin. i had to do that when i realized google maps marked my address as the next block over![]()
