No Notification LED

I mostly use it to tell when the phone is charged, or to make sure its actually charging when I put it on the wireless

I can’t think the last time I really found the led useful. I really haven’t worried about one since getting a galaxy watch.

Even when I have had a Pebble/Tizen/WearOs watch, I still find the notification led helpful.

It's like the ir blaster. Some of us L O V E it. Others never even set it up for their devices. Many don't use LED notifications because you need a 3rd party app to control it and set it up. Like you I L O V E LED notifications. My Note9 is likely the last phone I will ever own that has them. I see that yellow light across the room and know I have an sms. I can't see that on the AOD from a distance.

If the edge lighting would stay on until I check notification it would be perfect
On the Note 9 the edge lighting is only on for a few seconds so I often miss it
It doesn't bother me. With my aod notifications and edge lighting I won't miss it.i barely even pay attention to it now.

There is a setting to set the duration of the edge lighting: settings> edge screen> edge lighting> edge lighting style> effect, transparency, width, duration

There is no setting on Note 9 for edge lighting to stay on forever with screen off until notification is cleared. I have it set to max duration but it on on much less than 60 seconds. I want it on all day until I see it.

Is there such a setting (unlimited hours on) on your model?

I really dislike led notifications and I turn them off immediately. I like edge lighting but on on a couple of things and quickly, catch my eye and then stop. I don't need blinking and colors and constant on. I don't use other apps either.

And the great thing is in Android we could elect to turn them on or shut them off... until they took them away. I just hate to see manufacturers limiting our options. I chose the OG Droid over the iPhone BECAUSE of led notifications. Heck I'd like them on even with my screen on. I like the light show. My pet peeve is curved edges. I hate em. Most must like them.

they're not useful, more of a pain, and only for styling and sales of broken screens when the curve hits because no case on it.
I think every flagship phone has them now
Hate em but even iPhones have them. Android still has more user options but as time goes on they are diminishing

AOE app works. I have mine set to a ring around the camera.
Appears when the phone is charging and for notifications. There's also an option of a dot where the old led notification would be. Works with edge lighting as well.

Was it easy to get it up and running with that app? I just my phone last night and missing my led notifications and edge lighting doesn't last long enough for me....so I need to try this. Also, did you find a tutorial on it if I may ask?

It's very customizable and requires some system settings. I was able to figure out much of it on my own but there are tutorials on YouTube. The app is free but the only thing that's a pain is to save the changes you gotta watch a 30 second ad/video. If you pay for it the ads are removed. I just mute the ad.

I don't think it's unlimited. It goes from short to "long." I don't imagine that "long" is all that long.
