Hi,
I'm trying to connect a bluetooth speaker to my LG G4, but it won't connect as I get an error on my phone saying that the passcode is wrong, do I want to try again? The problem is that the passcode screen never shows up to enter the code!! Is there a workaround? I'm currently running Android version 5.1 (UK resident), will Marshmallow 6.0 sort out this problem?
Thanks In advance

Try opening the blueetooth settings and see if your speaker shows up in the list of devices when you try to connect. Then just choose 'add', it should then show you the pairing code and allow you to pair it with your phone.

The speaker comes up in "available devices". You click on the device, and it says pairing, it stays like that for about 30 secs, then it says wrong passkey. Try again? I know the passkey, but the screen never appears for me to enter it!

What speaker do you have? Mine (UE Roll) has a button for pairing it to the phone. To pair my speaker, I need to press that button first to put the speaker into pairing mode, then press 'add' on the phone. You could also try to select the speaker in your BT settings, and choose 'forget', then try and add it again. My speaker doesn't ask for a pairing code - there is no way to show a code on the speaker

P.S. I just tried to pair the G4 to another Android device (on Marshmallow) to see what happens when a passcode is required - the G4 showed me the passcode in the middle of the screen, but the other phone added it to notifications. So, check your notification shade as well in case the pairing code ends up there.

There's no button to press, just an on/off switch. The phone detects the speaker when the speaker is switched on, but it won't pair without putting in the passkey on the phone. Good idea to check the notifications, but unfortunately its not showing anything. Hopefully when the UK gets Marshmallow rolled out, it will sort out this problem. I'm just going to have to send the speaker back, which is a Sound Square Juice, great battery life on them. My G2 use to connect to it fine, can't remember if I had to add a passcode. I can only unpair the speaker when it is paired, which the phone won't do, but that's not a problem as every time I do a bluetooth search, the speaker is not there at first, but within a few seconds the phone picks it up as an available device.
Thanks for your help.

Just a quick suggestion just hold down the bt button on the speaker. It will usually flash a different color for paring to your phone. One example is when I use my bose speaker, sometimes it says connected but it's actually not. I have to hold down the speakers bt connection until it pairs up to my g4 again

Get a speaker that isn't shiat. You shouldn't need pairing codes for BT audio devices.
